The next afternoon, sunlight streamed through Rose's study windows as JeongWoo burst in unannounced. His sister looked up from her desk, her expression shifting from surprise to wariness.

"We need to talk about Soi." JeongWoo's words cut through the silence.

Rose's pen clattered onto her desk. "What about her?"

"Stop pretending. I know she's your daughter with Lisa."

The color drained from Rose's face, but she recovered quickly. "That's absurd. Who told you such nonsense?"

"Does it matter? I know what father did to you, to Lisa." JeongWoo's fists clenched at his sides. "How could you keep this from me?"

"You're delusional." Rose stood, her chair scraping against the hardwood floor. "Soi is our sister."

"And what about Haruto? Did father force you to erase my memories of him too?"

Rose's composure cracked. Her lips trembled before pressing into a thin line. "Get out."

"No. Not until you admit the truth." JeongWoo's pheromones filled the room, dark and oppressive. He have had enough with both of his siblings betraying him.

"I said get out!" Rose's own pheromones clashed with his, the air growing thick and suffocating.

"You used your pheromone on me—your own brother!"

"You don't understand anything!" Rose slammed her palms on the desk. "You never had to make the choices I did!"

Their shouting match came to an abrupt halt as the study door opened. Loren stood in the doorway, his presence cutting through the toxic mix of alpha pheromones like a fresh breeze.

Loren's footsteps were silent against the floor as he approached Rose. His omega instincts kicked in at the sight of his angry alpha, and he wrapped his arms around her waist. The touch seemed to drain the fight from Rose's body, her muscles relaxing beneath his embrace.

The scent of their combined pheromones shifted—Rose's aggressive edge mellowing into something softer, while Loren's carried undertones of the depression that had plagued him these past months. His nest upstairs still held the lingering warmth from where he'd been curled up all morning.

"Loren, baby." Rose's voice dropped to a whisper as she ran her fingers through his hair. "You should be resting. Why aren't you in your nest?"

Instead of answering, Loren pressed his face into her shoulder. "What's happening?" His words came out muffled and weak. "I heard shouting. Your pheromone... it smells bitter."

JeongWoo watched the interaction with a mix of emotions crossing his face. The sight of his brother-in-law's obvious distress seemed to temper some of his anger, though his jaw remained tight.

"Everything's fine," Rose murmured, but her hands trembled as they stroked Loren's back. Her eyes darted between her omega and her brother, caught between comfort and defense.

"Why were you fighting?" Loren lifted his head, gaze moving between the two alphas. The dark circles under his eyes spoke of sleepless nights and worry.

"It's nothing, baby." Rose's fingers traced soothing circles on Loren's back. "Go back upstairs. You need rest."

"No." JeongWoo's voice cut through the moment. "He deserves to know." His gaze fixed on Loren. "Does Rose tell you about Soi? That Soi isn't our sister but her daughter?"

Loren's body stiffened in Rose's arms. The omega's scent shifted, carrying notes of anxiety and something deeper—guilt, perhaps, or resignation.

Rose's nostrils flared, her pheromones spiking with protective rage. "How dare you!" The words came out as a snarl. "You want to talk about Soi? Right now?" Her arms tightened around Loren. "Can't you see him?!"
