Chapter 40

Progress. Junkyu was making progress and JeongWoo felt grateful every second of it although he had to receive another earful from Jihoon for missing out on another important meeting at office and although he had to lie his head hurts every now and then.

"You're doing great, Sugar." He cooed as he idly grazed his knuckles on Junkyu's cheek. "Let's stay awake for another hour then we take our well deserved nap together, okay?"

Junkyu nuzzled JeongWoo's jaw as his arms circled the alpha's neck, hiding his face from the strong wind. JeongWoo had insisted for them to lounge on their private terrace, stating Junkyu needed fresh air after days of locking himself up in his nest.

"Speaking of well deserved, it's your birthday in a week. What do you want for a gift?" JeongWoo asked.

He almost forgot about Junkyu's birthday if it wasn't because Hyunsuk asked about his own birthday party that the omega usually arranged ever since he became a part of the Park family. If there were any sign of Jihoon going to be the next Park's head, Mrs. Park dumping all family's parties and banquets on Hyunsuk would be one of them.

"What do you want, Sweetheart? I'll get you everything you want."

"Our pups." Junkyu murmured.

JeongWoo chuckled as he placed his palm on Junkyu's visibly round belly. "Our pups aren't a gift. I mean, they are but not exclusively for your 31st birthday."

"I want..." Junkyu tightened his arms around JeongWoo's neck. "...to see our pups grow. I want to be with them."

It was more than just a simple progress.

JeongWoo smiled to his eyes as he engulfed the omega on his lap. "It's still not qualified as a birthday present but I'll take that. You're going to see them grow. You're going to be there when they speak their first word. You're going to be with them when they start walking. And when they're a little bit older, you're going to take them to their first day of school. Then you're going to attend their graduation and you're going to cook a nice meal to celebrate them getting their first job. How about that as a start? Do you like that?"

Junkyu nodded, his forehead brushing against JeongWoo's three day stubble. All those as a start is a good idea.

"Aside from raising our pups, do you have another present you want? A ring? A necklace? A car?"

"I want...you." The omega whispered. "I want to have you for myself."

"Well, I would love to present myself to you with a bow on my head. Maybe giftwraps around me and you're going to peel me open?" JeongWoo chuckled though his joke met with silence and he sighed. The Junkyu he knew would make a snide remark saying how stupid or pervert he is, but the current Junkyu wasn't able to respond to a joke. "I'm yours, Sugar. Only yours." He said in all seriousness, rubbing Junkyu's back.

"Promise?"

The question surprised JeongWoo. He didn't expect the omega to request such a promise from him. He wondered if it means Junkyu no longer has the idea to give him away to his brother.

JeongWoo pulled his head back just a little and placed two fingers under Junkyu's chin, bringing the omega's face up to look at him. Though he couldn't see the shine in Junkyu's eyes, they weren't as lifeless as the days he spent succumbing in his nest. A little bit more, just a little bit more then he's going to get his Junkyu back.

Dragging his fingers to Junkyu's cheek, the alpha smiled with a hint of proudness in it. Junkyu's weight was far from ideal for the pregnancy, but the omega was no longer as pale as snow and weak as falling leaves. The fair result of his effort in making Junkyu eat a full course meal three times a day by selling his lies to the omega.
