Chapter 44

JeongWoo groaned, rolling his eyes in disbelief. "Are you guys coming or not?"

He'd immediately stepped out of his car as soon as Jin pulled over on the driveway, thinking that Travis and Doyoung would follow him right away. As he was nearing his front door, however, he didn't hear any footsteps other than his own, and he turned around only to see the two hugging right there in the middle of his driveway.

Travis grunted as he broke the hug. "How come you ever like a guy like him?"

"It's kind of adorable, don't you think?" Doyoung chuckled.

The alpha huffed, taking Doyoung's hand with his good hand, lacing their fingers as they walked towards the front door. "Should I nag alot too so you're going to think I'm also adorable?"

Doyoung looked up at the blonde, stunned. Despite how obvious the alpha's feelings for him, Travis never showed his jealousy. The omega looked down again and felt heat creeping up his cheeks as his gaze fell to their joining hands. His heart skipped a beat. He used to think a darker color looked perfect with the color of his skin, but no, the hand he was holding at the moment was the perfect one, not just its color but also its feel against his own. It felt just...right.

Seeing Travis and Doyoung make their way, JeongWoo pressed his thumb on the electronic handle, unlocking the door. The house was dark when he got in with only specks of dim light coming from the deeper side.

"Come in." He said to his guests as he turned on the light, giving Travis and Doyoung a clear view of his small, yet inviting foyer.

It was Junkyu's belief that the first step into their sanctuary should exude warmth and personality. The natural grain of wooden flooring underfoot, the sturdiness of rustic beams overhead, and strategically placed wood furniture pieces against white walls weave a tale of timeless elegance. Then there was a green entryway rug that was a simple idea yet profound, blending nicely with the rustic wooden accents of their entrance.

"You can find extra slippers there." JeongWoo said, pointing at a small storage as he sat down on a padded bench and took off his shoes.

It raised a question in Doyoung's head as it wasn't the high-level alpha's habit to take off his shoes right after the front door. The many times JeongWoo spent the night at his house, the alpha either changed to slippers in his bedroom or living room, granted Doyoung brought it down to him. And for sure it was the same at the Park manor or at JeongWoo's own penthouse.

"Junkyu doesn't like it if I wear dirty shoes inside. He doesn't want to add extra work to our maid." JeongWoo informed, as though answering the questioning look on Doyoung's face.

Travis curiously looked around as he followed the shorter man further inside after they changed their footwear. He didn't peg someone like JeongWoo to live in such house, as despite its massive size, the interior design was, somewhat, humble. It didn't scream wealth, nor it exudes a zest for the finest things that he expected JeongWoo to have. The place was strangely as homey as if the owner had been living there for decades, as if the house had experienced children growing inside, unlike what JeongWoo told them in the car that they've only recently moved in.

The high-level alpha frowned as soon as he stepped into the more private area of the house as he saw Junkyu laying down on his side on the sofa in the living room, evidently sleeping. Although he was covered in a blanket, it was a throw blanket meant to cozy up on the couch while watching TV and it wasn't enough to provide warmth for the pregnant omega. And obviously, their bed was much more comfortable for Junkyu to sleep in.

Taking his tux off, JeongWoo kneeled before the omega and gently rubbed his back so as not to jerk him awake. "Sugar, wake up sweetheart." Junkyu didn't budge, and so JeongWoo tried again with a tad bit louder voice. "Sugar, wakey wakey. I'm home." He then looked around, wondering if Ayida was still awake as he wanted to ask how long his omega had been sleeping on the sofa.
