The interns stand in a circle, with nervous faces as they are about to submit their first work and be assigned with the first official task.
Each one of them, trying to look confident but deep down I know how anxious their hearts are right now.
RE is very strict when it comes to assignments and submissions. Call it a school, because we're damn concerned to see how our students, I mean the interns are doing in their work.
That is why, just like colleges and schools have tests and assignments, we have regular tasks to test their skills and submissions to see how well they perform.
This task was just a dummy task, to check their basic knowledge and understanding towards the project.
I am excited to see each one of theirs POVs towards how the project can be built.
"Alright my mighty interns, shall we begin?" I speak up.
They nod in agreement.
I stand at the center desk while a glass table in the middle of the foyer is arranged for the models to kept and explained.
"Aastha, why don't you come forward and enlighten us with your prototype." I signal towards an intern.
She is one of the 4 girls recruited.
(Aastha is the mean girl that tried to be rude with Evara in previous chapter.)
She seems to be keen and sharp.
Always ready to give answers and jump onto conclusions.
She readily comes forward, sets her laptop on the table, connects it to the projector and starts explaining her model.
In the meantime, other interns take their seats.
Aastha's model seemed quiet decent, but not upto to the mark.
"Good work. But Miss Arora, don't you think this seems too outdated? Appreciate the work and the effort, but not the idea and the vision. I don't have to remind you that we are not in a 10th grade school science fair, or should I?"
I say and Aastha's face falls down.
"Sir, I thought to keep the idea simple and conventional which might make it easy for us to assemble the base-" Aastha tried to reason but I cut her off saying,
"Miss if we had to keep it conventional and follow the same old traditional practices, we wouldn't call it 'The Pillar and Foundation of Tomorrow's Artificial Intelligence', Would we?"
"I am sorry sir, I agree with you. I should've considered that and made a better project. But sir trust me, I will not disappoint next time." She says with a smile on her face.
I nod and signal the next intern to come forward.
For someone that got criticised pretty badly, Aastha took it professionally. Like the spirit.
