[01] Guess Who's Back

"ATTENTION, D.E.B.S! ATTENTION!"

Mr. Park's voice boomed throughout the entire D.E.B.S household, paired with alarms blaring at each corner of the house. The first one to be awoken by this was none other than the leader herself, Haerin, who already had her gun in hand. Yes. She keeps it next to her at all times.

"EMERGENCY ALERT! THAT MEANS REPORT, RIGHT NOW!"

All Haerin wanted this morning was for Mr. Park to shut the hell up, so she walked out of her room and hurried to Hyein's room first. She opens the door, not even bothering to knock. Inside Hyein's bedroom, Haerin saw the girl still sleeping soundly, her entire body from head to toe underneath the thick purple blanket. "Hyein," the leader calls, but to no avail. "Come on, Hyein. Mr. Park's freaking out."

Hyein's head finally pokes out of her covers with a tired and stupidly cute look on her face that Haerin just can't resist. "Fine. Five minutes," Haerin rolled her eyes, "Oh, and tell Hyunseo to go back home, please," Hyein always had Hyunseo over. Haerin never really understood the relationship those two had. They say they're just best friends, but friends don't sleep next to each other every night, right?

"Out," Hyein says in a groggy voice as she pulls the covers off of Hyunseo's face which of course, awakens the girl. Hyunseo sits up, feeling a bit chilly since she was wearing nothing but Hyein's shirt. "What, why?" she manages to say, confused as to why Hyein was waking her up all of a sudden. "Just get out. It's morning," Hyein replies.

Hyunseo was irritated by Hyein's response, so she decided to drop the bomb, "Why are you doing this to me, Hyein? We sleep together, and then in the morning you just throw me out like I'm nothing! Tell me, what even are we?" to which Hyein just rolls her eyes and throws the latter's discarded clothes at her.

"I don't do laundry," Hyein says, clearly avoiding Hyunseo's question. Hyunseo was about to respond, when Hyein walked out of the room, uniform in hand.

Haerin cringes when she is blinded by a disgustingly pink bedroom. "Too much pink," she shudders. Thankfully enough, Hanni was already dressed up in her uniform. However, the girl seemed to be scouring through her bedside drawer. "Hanni, five minutes."

"Have you seen my gun?" Hanni asks in a panicked voice, causing Haerin to mentally facepalm. She was about to go in and help the poor girl in finding her gun when the landline phone rang.

"D.E.B.S Haerin here," she greets as soon as she picks it up. She listened to the caller for a while before shouting, "Dani, it's for you!"

Reaching over to her nightstand, Danielle swiftly picks up the phone. "Hello," she grimaced when she heard his voice. "No. I'm not - I'm not talking about this anymore," she grits, putting down the phone, annoyed. "Worst way to start my morning," Danielle whispers to herself as she walks to her closet to get ready.

Danielle was packing her bag when someone was calling her again, but this time it was on her mobile phone. "Jerry, seriously, it's not a good time," she says, about to hang up when her boyfriend speaks up, "When is a good time?!"

"DANI!" Haerin's loud voice could be heard from downstairs, as well as Mr. Park who was counting down from 10, indicating that they should be leaving the house in ten seconds or else they'd be late.

With that, Danielle hung up the phone and threw it into her bag. Not without putting it on silent, of course. As she was walking out the door, Jerry's contact popped on her smartwatch. "After all we've been through together?"

"Goodbye, Jerry."

The girls all wince at the sound of the truck honking at them as Haerin sped through the streets with their blue convertible as fast as she could. She was dodging cars left and right, trying to find the best shortcuts, even if it meant potentially risking their chances of crashing and dying.

"I broke up with Jerry," Danielle announces from the passenger seat.

Hanni, her closest friend, was the first to react. "Oh my gosh! Why?"

"He was just so boring," the girl explains. "He's an ass," Haerin states matter-of-factly. "Yeah," Hyein agrees. "What?" Danielle says, unable to hear Hyein. "YEAH!"

"I like him. I think he's sweet!" Hanni defends. Danielle reasons, "I'm just not in love."

"What?" Haerin asked, too busy parking the car.

Danielle repeats in a louder voice, "I said I wanna be in love!" not realizing the car has come to a full stop. "Why are you yelling?" Hanni gives Dani a weirded-out look, to which the girl just rolls her eyes and gets out of the car with her bag in hand.

The D.E.B.S. strutted through the hallways of Ador University, making their way to the cafeteria where they would be meeting Mr. Park. Almost every student they'd pass through would greet Danielle either with a quick 'Hi' or a wave. Hell, someone even tried to give her a love letter but Haerin pushed them away, not allowing any distractions.

"Hey, Mr. P," Danielle greets, joining him in the booth and sitting on his left. "Don't call me that," Next to greet him was Hanni, who sat next to Danielle. "Hi, Mr. P!" To his right there was Haerin, "What's up, Mr. P?" followed by Hyein who playfully said, "Bonjour, Mr. P~"

Mr. Park sighs, already feeling a headache come in. Then, a waitress walks over to them with a notepad in hand. After the girls have finished ordering their breakfasts, Mr. Park clears his throat to bring their attention back to him. "We have a special guest with us this morning."

"Ms. Joohyun."

The girls' eyes instantly lit up when they heard the name of the beloved head of Ador University.

"Ms. Joohyun? She never comes down here!" Haerin says with excitement, her eyes shining the brightest among the four of them.

Just then, a beam appears in front of them and Ms. Joohyun appears, which appears to excite the girls even more. "Ms. Joohyun, what a pleasure it is to finally meet y-" Haerin attempts to greet the woman. "No time for pleasantries," Ms. Joohyun says while raising her hand, signaling Haerin to stop. The girl merely sits back with a pout, before going back to listening.

"Park, a matter of some urgency has come to my attention."

Everyone goes silent, patiently waiting for the head to continue.

"Minji Kim is back in the States."
