[07] Sneaking In and Out

The car came to a smooth halt as they arrived at their destination. Minji silenced the love songs that had filled the space moments ago. "You stay here," Minji orders Yujin. "Minji, I beg of you–" The sound of the car door shutting in front of her face causes her to wince, as she watches her friend walk towards the house.

Minji pulled out a device that displayed some sort of blueprint of the D.E.B.S house, as well as the forcefield they had activated. Their security seemed promising, which impressed the girl. "Alright, D.E.B.S., show me what you're made of," she says while typing in Danielle's name. She fiddled around with the device until she was finally able to pinpoint the location of Danielle's bedroom before making her way over the gate.

As Minji moved, a faint, glowing, almost opaque force field manifested in front of her. It was a dome that surrounded the entire house, including the front yard, and it was impenetrable. Without missing a beat, Minji retrieved a small laser pen from her pocket and activated it, utilizing its beam to carve a hole through the force field. She swiftly went through the hole before it closed up, and skillfully made it past all the other security features their house offered.

To Minji, it was almost like playing a Roblox obby, as it mostly consisted of her jumping over still laser beams on the floor. When she finally made it to the wall, she pulled out another device that resembled a pair of gloves that aided her in climbing the wall. Seriously, where does she keep all these?

Minji silently opened the window and slithered through it, her movements fluid and precise. She tiptoed across the room to the bed where Danielle slept, her face relaxed and peaceful as she slumbered. Her blonde hair fanned out on the pillow beneath her head, cascading down in gentle waves. Her breathing was steady, and her limbs were nestled comfortably under yellow covers. The sleeping girl's face was a canvas of natural beauty, her bare face being as beautiful as a face full of make-up, perhaps even more.

"Danielle," Minji whispered. It took a couple more tries before Danielle shot up, skillfully flipping the intruder and throwing her to the floor on the opposite side of her bed. "Jesus!" Minji groaned out in pain before getting back up, dodging Danielle's every attack. "Hey, hold on!"

"What are you doing here?!" Danielle asks loudly, which surprisingly doesn't wake up the other girls. "I wanted to see you," Minji admits, her voice soft. "Why?" Danielle asks again, still in a tense fighting stance. "Well, I was thinking about what you said about um, your paper."

"My thesis?"

Minji nodded, "Uh-huh, and look, I think it's stupid for you to do all this outdated research when you could just come straight to the source," Minji's words poured out like jumbled alphabet soup with a plate of excuses and explanations on the side. But despite her rambling, there was a hidden desire to simply see Danielle, to bask in her presence and share her company, maybe even get to know her a bit more. "You?" Minji nods again.

"Come out with me. I'll let you ask me anything," Minji offers, looking into Danielle's eyes, almost as if she were daring her to resist her seductive and charismatic charm. Without a word, Danielle reaches over her nightstand to grab whatever weapon is there and points it towards Minji. "I can't go out with you," she rejects, as Minji puts her hands up in surrender. "Why not?"

"Like, a zillion reasons!" Then in a swift movement, Minji skillfully kicks the weapon out of Danielle's hands and grabs it. "Well, now you have to come out with me," she smiles, with the weapon now facing the blonde. Minji gave her that same intense and seductive gaze that ultimately made Danielle want nothing but all the smugness out of her face. Danielle stood there, mouth agape in disbelief. Is she really going to sneak out with a literal criminal right now?

Danielle walked out of the front door, wearing a soft, baby blue tracksuit to keep her warm during this chilly night. Behind her was Minji, who was still pointing the weapon at her.

As the two were walking towards a gate, the sound of a branch breaking alarmed them. Minji turned around and shot the weapon, which fired an arrow. After seeing this, Danielle rolled her eyes and made her way to the person who had just been pinned to a tree. "Hanni, what are you doing?" Danielle scolds in a hushed voice. "I don't know who that is, but he ruined my sweater!" she rants, pointing at the person who had just attempted to shoot her a few seconds ago. However, the darkness made it difficult to make out any distinct features or identify who the figure belonged to.

Shuffling out of her now-ruined pink sweater, Hanni makes her way over to the culprit. "I don't know who you think you are, mate, but–" The person finally steps into the light, revealing herself to be the almighty Minji Kim. "EEK!" Hanni screams, her reflexes causing her to slap Minji's cheek. "Ow! What the fuck, lady!" Minji, for the second time, groans in pain as she holds her sore cheek. "Sorry!" Meanwhile, Danielle pinches the bridge of her nose out of stress as she painfully listens to this exchange.

There was an awkward tension in the car, with the only noise being the sound of Hanni and Yujin's small talk from the backseat and the gentle humming of the car's air conditioner. "So, uh, do you like movies?" Yujin asks, feeling her heart skip a beat when she sees Hanni's face light up. "Yeah!"

As Yujin and Hanni continue their chat, Danielle notices Minji glancing at her. "Where are you taking us?"

"Where do you wanna go then?" Minji replies as they enter a tunnel.

"Home!" Hanni answers for Dani, to which Minji just rolls her eyes. And turns to an opening in the tunnel, that had Do Not Enter signs all over it. Danielle and Hanni start to get nervous when another sign appears reading Dead End. "What are you doing?!" Danielle asks as she holds on tight to her seatbelt that she buckled on in a panic earlier when Minji knocked down those traffic cones. The signs seemed to become progressively worse until they saw the final one which was written on some sort of sewer with spray paint.

The car entered the cave, its headlights slicing through the murky shadows, revealing glimpses of the cave's rocky walls. Danielle and Hanni both screamed when they were headed toward a wall, but their panic soon subsided when they went right past it. It was some sort of hologram! They now found themselves in what looked to be a hangout place for bikers, criminals, and punks alike. It was absolutely littered with graffiti and it reeked of cigarettes, there was this big building with flashing lights and neon colors that had music, which was way too metal for Danielle's liking, booming into the night as everyone in there drank like there was no tomorrow.

"Come on," Minji beckons after parking the car. Danielle just stared off into the distance, her jaw shut tight as she refused to look at that cute face of hers. Minji furrows her eyebrows before smiling at the blonde girl's stubbornness. "Look, these tunnels go on for miles, so you guys could be lost in there for days, even weeks."

Still earning no response from the two D.E.B.S., Minji says, "Okay. Suit yourselves," before getting out of the car, which Yujin was quick to follow. The two girls really had no plan on getting out when Hanni suddenly told Dani that she had to pee and got out of the car.

Danielle watched as Hanni's petite figure marched its way towards the building, which were surrounded by people twice her size. Not just people. Scary people. With this, Danielle heard the "Dun, dun, dun!!!" sound effect go off in her head and left her no choice but to follow Hanni inside.
