After convincing Minji to drive her back home, Danielle walked through the empty streets. As she approached the front door of the D.E.B.S. house, her heart pounded in her chest. She adjusted her wrinkled uniform, her necktie still missing. Taking a deep breath, she slowly turned the doorknob and opened the door as quietly as possible, hoping to slip back in and act like nothing happened.

Danielle froze when she heard a woman clear her throat, her eyes darting to the living room. There gathered her fellow members alongside Jerry, Mr. Park, and Ms. Joohyun. Danielle sighed and reluctantly walked into the living room, mentally preparing herself from the wrath of the two school heads.

"Are you kidding me?" Ms. Joohyun spoke, her voice low and laced with disappointment. "We conduct a nationwide manhunt for you, and you're boning the suspect?"

The woman scoffed, "You thought this was some sort of joke?" Danielle gulped as Ms. Joohyun approached her, eyes filled with frustration. "Let's divert federal resources and man hours so I can have my collegiate lesbian fling," she said sarcastically.

"I was..." Danielle trailed off, racking her brain for an excuse. "-doing research."

"I'll bet," Ms. Joohyun spat, her eyes narrowing in disgust. Danielle watched as the woman turned and walked away, leaving her feeling even more out of place and unwelcome.

Ms. Joohyun clenched her fists, her mind racing with outrage over Danielle's conduct as she muttered all of the violations the girl had committed. "I'm going to be a laughing stock," she murmured, shaking her head.

"I am going to send you so far away," she threatened, "-that luxuries like toilet paper and Diet Coke will be a distant dream to you."

Danielle's heart sank. She knew that Ms. Joohyun was a woman of her word, and empty ultimatums were not in her vocabulary.

"Ms. Joohyun," Haerin spoke up. "This infraction is a considerable embarrassment to you and the academy, right?"

"Have I not been speaking in English?" Ms. Joohyun snapped as she overflowed with annoyance.

Haerin crossed her arms as she confidently strutted towards the woman. "Well, there is a way that we can turn it all around." 

"Explain."

"Make Danielle D.E.B. of the year next week at endgame."

Hyein nodded. "Nobody knows what happened tonight but us," she added. "What good would it do to send Danielle to Siberia? Nothing."

"Your pride and joy will be disgraced, and for what?" Hyein defended, desperately trying to change Ms. Joohyun's mind. "Exactly," Haerin agreed.

"Here's what we're gonna do," Haerin started as Ms. Joohyun intently listened to the girl's plan. "Tomorrow, we're gonna go to class, and we're gonna report that we rescued Dani from Minji just in the nick of time. And Dani's gonna act traumatized but cool."

Danielle felt herself smiling until she heard Haerin's final statement.

"And she will go to endgame on Saturday with Jerry. She'll give a speech about how she battled Minji and lived to fight another day."
