Danielle and Hanni were immediately hit with a chaotic explosion of light and sound, the walls pulsing with the beat of whichever music genre they had on (it was too overstimulating for Dani to even care). The crowd was a sea of bodies lost in energetic dancing, many rocking spiky leather jackets and neon colors that flashed through the darkness. The air was thick with the mixed scents of sweat, cigarettes, and– gross! Is that pee?

The blonde girl scanned the room, trying to find a bathroom Hanni could use. She felt Hanni walking towards something, but before she could even stop her the girl had already vanished into the crowd. She sighs, now zipping her tracksuit all the way up. Dani's gaze met Minji's from across the room, their eyes locked in an unexpected moment of connection. Minji approached Danielle, happy to see her finally get out. "Want a beer?" she offers. "No." Danielle crosses her arms, utterly pissed off with... well... everything. Just then, a bartender passes by with a tray of drinks, which Minji snatches immediately. "Come on!" Minji grabs Danielle's hand, dragging her to a less populated area of the club. Minji then lets go of Danielle when they arrive at a teal booth.

Upon noticing the Minji Kim's presence, the people who once occupied the booth immediately scurried out, making way for the two of them. "Sit down," Minji says as she places the two beer bottles on the table. They were a fair distance apart, their focus fixed on anything and everything except each other. Minji felt a gaze being fixated on her, her senses prickling as she instinctively glanced over to Danielle, whose gaze immediately flickered away the moment she looked back. Minji smirked, the girl was totally into her. Yeah, right. "So, how long have you been a D.E.B.?" she asked, trying to start up a conversation. Danielle still refused to look at Minji, only pursing her lips as her gaze was now fixated on the floor. "You're gonna have to talk to me sooner or later." Minji chuckled at the girl's cuteness before taking a sip of her beer.

"Look, I don't know what you expect to accomplish by bringing me all the way out here."

"Would you lighten up?" Minji muttered with a tinge of irritation, "I know there is a shit load of questions you're just dying to ask me," she says a hint of smugness in Minji's eyes. Danielle still wasn't looking at her. "Come on, tell me about your thesis," Minji brings up in a desperate attempt to get the girl to speak, smiling when the blonde finally looks up at her. "It's stupid."

"Well, try me."

"Um..." Danielle began, "I guess my central hypothesis is that," she continued, pausing for a moment before looking back at Minji. "As a woman operating in a male-dominated field, you often need to overcompensate by being exponentially more ruthless and diabolical than your established male counterparts," she finished, a hint of conviction in her voice.

"I'm not more ruthless," Minji says, her voice raising as she gets more defensive. "I think an argument could be made that you are," Danielle calmly replies. "That's interesting. Continue."

Words poured out of Danielle's mouth as she talked with such pensiveness, the shine in her eyes indicating her deep interest in the topic. "And I think that these psychological forces combine to create a kind of, um," she pauses. "-emotional void in which you're incapable of..." Danielle hesitates for a moment. "loving or being loved."

Triggered, Minji said, "See, that is so not true," with that same defensive tone she always uses. "I'm open to love. I am!"

"I'm sorry. It's– It's just a theory," Danielle apologizes, to which Minji just shakes her head. "What the hell do you know about it anyway?" Minji then turns away to take another swig of beer, eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. "Nothing!"
