[04] Les Deux Amours

Les Deux Amours is a popular spot for couples seeking a romantic evening. Soft blue lights illuminate the restaurant, casting a warm glow over the walls adorned with French art. Its atmosphere was filled with a sense of intimacy, the small tables encouraging close conversation between pairs. Somewhere around the middle sat a blonde woman, seemingly waiting for her companion to arrive as she scanned the menu. However, unbeknownst to her, a group of spies discreetly observes from the top of the restaurant, swinging gently on swings hidden among the shadows of the restaurant's high ceiling, their equipment ready for use.

Each girl had their own way of passing the time as they waited for Minji Kim's arrival. "Hey, look at this. Ms. Joohyun is handpicking girls for the International Bureau," Haerin told Danielle as she showed her the page of the school-issued magazine she brought along. "I'm gonna see if I can get an interview."

"Do you think Mr. Park would let me take some time off after endgame?" Danielle asks, Haerin's words seemingly coming in and out of one ear.

Endgame is the most anticipated event of the year at Ador University, where the students gather to celebrate the end of the academic year. It's a night filled with dance, music, and a temple to help them dissolve into fun and relaxation.

"What? What are you talking about?"

The latter then finally looks back at Haerin, "I don't know. There's this music school in Italy."

Haerin narrowed her eyes at Danielle as she repeated, her voice dripping with disapproval. "Dani, you're the perfect score. You could have your choice of any assignment you want after Endgame," Her tone conveyed the skepticism she felt towards the idea, and it was clear that she strongly disapproved of quitting the spy life for music school - especially when you were the best of the best.

Silence followed and Dani looked down in shame, a tiny pout on her lips after being scolded by the leader. Guilty, Haerin asked knowingly, "Who's your best friend?"

"You are my best friend."

"And what did I say to you the very first day of the academy?"

Danielle looked up, her mind working overtime as she tried to recall what Haerin told her on their first day at Ador U. "Meow."

"After I said that."

"You said D.E.B.S stick together," A subtle smile formed on Haerin's lips upon hearing Danielle's words. "Exactly. We've been through four years of hell, and now we're like, the best squad Ador has."

The blonde nods, they have come a long way to being promoted to D.E.B.S sector 1.

"So you're not gonna ruin it all by going to music school," Haerin states as if Danielle had no choice. "Am I right?"

Danielle nods once more, flashing Haerin a convincing smile, her true feelings hidden beneath a blanket of compliance. "Yes. You're always right,"

The four girls enjoyed passing the time chitchatting when all of a sudden, they were interrupted by a crackling voice in Hanni's walkie-talkie.

Hanni momentarily puts down her walkie-talkie, looking over to Danielle. "It's Jerry," she says in a hushed voice. "I don't wanna talk to him," the latter whispers back.
