[17] Cutie Pie

"Get up."

"What?" Danielle stirred awake, blinking furiously to adjust to the brightness.

"Get up," Minji repeated, the corners of her lips naturally curving up as she admired the beauty of what she likes to call MoDani, which was short for Morning Danielle. It should be illegal for someone to look this good when waking up.

Once she was fully awake, Danielle hopped out of bed and into Minji's arms, giving the latter a tight 'good morning' hug. The hug was enough to melt Minji's cool and collected demeanor as she hesitantly reciprocated the action. "This is sweet, but I think we should have breakfast now," Minji chuckled nervously.

Danielle giggled as she took Minji's extended hand, their fingers interlocking as Minji led the way with confidence, enjoying the warmth and softness of Danielle's hand.

"You should really put up an elevator somewhere," Danielle panted.

As they entered the kitchen, Minji couldn't help but laugh at Danielle's complaint. "I guess this place is a bit too big for its own good."

Danielle couldn't help but let out a startled yelp as Minji gently pulled her onto one of the island chairs. With curious eyes, she watched as two of Minji's mercenaries diligently prepared a delectable stack of pancakes.

"That's Gowon," Minji pointed out, noticing how Danielle's eyes were fixated on said girl. "She's a pretty good cook," she complimented. "-if you like your food burnt."

The atmosphere was light and playful as the group erupted into laughter when Gowon directed a glare at Minji, her tiny hand holding a knife in a comically menacing manner.

"And that's Vivi. An actually good cook." Minji tauntingly raised an eyebrow at Gowon as she spoke, causing Danielle to giggle at the two's banter. The girls would've loved Minji, Danielle thought. If only she wasn't a notorious villain that the school wants to bring to justice.

"Gowon and Vivi, this is Danielle."

Gowon and Vivi turned their attention towards the blonde, greeting her with warm and welcoming smiles as they served the pair their food. Danielle reciprocated the smile graciously, taking a moment to express her gratitude to them. She then asked the two women to join her and Minji, which they politely declined before exiting the room.

Minji and Danielle were inside a small, nondescript cafe tucked away from the main streets of Los Angeles. From the outside, it seemed like an ordinary run-down establishment, but it was a hidden gem.

The cafe was intimate and cozy, the walls decorated with local artwork and the scent of freshly baked pastries filling the air.

Minji seemed to have frequented the place as she brought Danielle to a secluded table tucked away in a quiet corner after they'd placed their orders.

"I love this place already!" Danielle squealed, unable to contain her joy. She couldn't resist bopping her head in rhythm with the music, fully immersing herself in the cozy ambiance of the cafe.

Sitting across from Danielle, Minji seemed to be more captivated by the latter than the cafe itself. With a subtle smile, she secretly reached for her phone, taking the opportunity to capture candid photos of her date, albeit each photo turned out blurry.

"Order for MJ?"

Upon hearing the cashier's voice, Minji flashes Danielle a quick smile before rising from her seat. "Be right back!" she called over her shoulder, striding towards the counter.
