I woke up the next morning with the sunlight filtering through the blinds, casting a warm glow across the room. Eva's arm was draped over me, her breath soft and steady against my neck. For a moment, I just lay there, soaking in the feeling of being close to her, our bodies still entangled from the night before.

As I shifted slightly, Eva stirred and opened her eyes, looking at me with a mix of tenderness and regret. "Good morning," she said, her voice still husky from sleep.

"Good morning," I replied, smiling softly.

Eva propped herself up on one elbow, her expression turning serious. "Leah, I'm sorry for how I reacted yesterday. It was wrong of me to lash out like that."

Before she could continue, I shook my head and placed a finger on her lips. "No, Eva. I'm the one who should be sorry. I let things get out of hand with Jordan, and I shouldn't have. It was my mistake."

Eva looked at me, her eyes filled with understanding. "But I didn't handle it well. I should have trusted you more, instead of letting my jealousy take over."

I reached up and cupped her cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin under my palm. "We both made mistakes, but what matters is that we're here now, together."

She leaned into my touch, closing her eyes briefly before looking at me again. "I just... I don't want to lose you, Leah. You mean everything to me."

"You won't," I promised, pulling her closer. "We're stronger than that. We'll get through this, together."

Eva nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Together."

We lay there for a while, holding each other, the silence between us comfortable and reassuring. The events of the previous day seemed like a distant memory, replaced by a renewed sense of commitment and love.

After a while, we got up and made our way to the kitchen. I started making breakfast while Eva set the table. It felt good, normal, like we were finding our rhythm again.

As we sat down to eat, I reached across the table and took her hand in mine. "Thank you for last night," I said, squeezing her hand gently. "For everything."

Eva smiled, her eyes shining with affection. "Thank you for being patient with me. I know I can be a lot sometimes."

I chuckled, shaking my head. "We both can. But that's what makes us work, right?"

"Right," she agreed, her smile widening. "Now, let's eat. We've got a big day ahead of us."

As we shared breakfast, the air was filled with a sense of renewed hope and love. We knew there would be challenges ahead, but we also knew that together, we could face anything.

And in that moment, as I looked across the table at the woman I loved, I knew that no matter what, we would always find our way back to each other.

As we lined up for the pre-match handshakes, I could feel the tension crackling in the air. Eva's anger towards Jordan was palpable, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as I watched them exchange words.

Eva's stern warning to Jordan sent a chill down my spine. "Stay the fuck away from Leah, understand?" she said, her voice sharp and commanding. I knew Eva was still seething over what had happened between Jordan and me, but I couldn't condone her aggressive approach.

Once the game started, I hoped that Eva would be able to channel her anger into her performance on the pitch. But instead, I watched as she seemed to zero in on Jordan, determined to make her pay for her actions.

When Eva charged at Jordan and brought her down with a forceful slide, my heart sank. I could hear Jordan's cries of pain echoing across the field, and I felt a pang of sympathy for her. As much as I was angry with Jordan for betraying me, I couldn't help but think that Eva's actions were too extreme.
