Chapter FiveTris P.O.V.
I park on my driveway and get the keys. I walk to Four's car and he is just staring at my house. It's pretty big but, simple. I knock on the glass window of his car and he stares at me mouthing 'oh'. I motion with my hands for him to open the car window and he does. "Hey come in, I'm going to pick up my laptop." I say. He nods and we walk in. My mom is there watching a rom-com. She looks at the door and sees me. I look behind me and see that Four is still looking at the house.
"Oh my god, sweetie! What happened?" She stands up quickly and touches my nose and sees my hand scratched. I give her a small smile and explain quickly. I change the topic and motion Four to come in. She looks at him from head to toe but then smiles. I look at him too and notice he changed his stained spaghetti shirt in school.
"Hello, I'm Natalie, Beatrice's mother!" She puts her hand out for him to shake it. He looks at me and mouths: 'Beatrice'? I roll my eyes and remember he didn't know my real name. He shakes her hand politely. "I'm Four." he says.
"Okay, mom," I start after she starts asking stuff about his name. "We are going to the library together and I just came to take my laptop." I explain and she nods. I walk up the stairs with Four following me. I look to the hall and see my door. It is black with a printed design of the message: 'DON'T ENTER' in a red bloody font. I breathe after opening the door, hoping Four doesn't immediately calls me a nerd or stupid or emo. Which I am, but I don't want to keep on hearing it. I open the door to reveal a room with dark gray walls that you can barely notice because, the walls are full of posters of bands and actors and my OTP's. Like Dean and Castiel, from Supernatural or Theo James and Shailene Woodley, from the movie: Detergent. It's a really good movie, and I think that outside of the studio, they should be dating.
On the middle of the room is this simple wood bed. On the right is my desk, and my bookshelves. I have two of them because the first one got over-stacked. Right now, I'm not using one because, since we moved like a couple of weeks ago, I didn't have time to open so many boxes.
I look at Four and he is again lost in his gaze, until he says: "This is awesome." Awesome? He thinks this is awesome. I look at him in disbelief. "Really!" he yells and grins.
"Look, Four," I start. "I know it's stupid but you don't have to make fun of my stuff." I tell him. He rolls his eyes and chuckles. "Tris, I almost have all of these posters in my room." He says reassuringly. I look at him and actually believe him. I would've never guessed he was like this. I stare at him for a while and remember what I was here for. I grab my laptop and when he's about to open the door I say:
"Wait,"
"What?" he says, releasing his hand from the door knob. "Four, can you sit for a moment?" He nods and sits in my bed. I sit next to him and stare at him. He smiles.
"Can we talk about it? I ask, hoping he knows what I mean. He stops smiling and looks down. "I mean, you don't have to..." I say.
"No, Tris, I'm going to tell you." He says, still looking at the floor. "I've never told anyone this, just you. So, please don't tell anyone about this." He looks at me deeply and I nod.
"I promise, Four." I say gently. He sighs and keeps on going.
"I... Uh... Mr.Eaton? He is my father. So, I told you that because, he threatened me." He says and looks down again. Threatened him? With what? He looks at me and sees the confusion in my face. "My dad abuses of me." He says and my jaw drops. I look at his eyes getting watery and I wrap my hands around his neck and he wraps his arms around my back, returning the favor. "He whips me three hours a day. He couldn't leave me without a scratch if I didn't say that and I'm sorry." I honestly don't know why he keeps on saying he is sorry. I already forgave him. I pull back.
