IIt was raining heavily. Yug stood in the library before a man. Despite his age, the man's presence was commanding enough to dominate any room.
"Dad, I love her. Isn't that enough? I don't care for Nidhi; she's not right for me. Aditi is a wonderful girl. I'm confident she'll fit in perfectly," Yug rushed out, attempting to persuade his father.
Yug's father laid two photographs before him. "Decide now," he said.
Yug examined the pictures with a puzzled expression. As he looked at them, he recoiled, taking two steps back. "This is impossible. It can't be true. You're lying," he exclaimed.
"Give me one reason why I would lie to you, or claim that this is photoshopped," his dad said sitting back on his chair.
"Yug, make your choice now. This girl or your family," Yug's father demanded. Overwhelmed, Yug knelt and cradled his head in despair.
"Why did she deceive me? There must be a reason; I need to confront her." As he reached for his phone, a stern voice cut through.
"Lower your voice, Yug, and make a decision. It's about your family, your reputation, the business you've toiled for tirelessly. Or is it about this simple girl, who pretends to love you, yet she's your enemy?"
"I need time dad. I will let you know." Yug said effortlessly and was about to leave when he heard his dad.
"Yug, we don't have time. I have a task for you pending since years." Yug turned back to look at his dad.
ADITI'S APARTMENT
Aditi was conversing with Vidhi, who was away on a special assignment. Setting her phone down, she awaited her mother's return while Siya had gone to the grocery store for essentials.
Muttering to herself, "I told Mom to let me accompany her to lend a hand, but she never listens," she attempted to call her, only to find the phone turned off.
Aditi resolved to go and fetch her herself. She grabbed her umbrella and made her way to the grocery store, where some people had gathered to seek shelter from the rain.
Despite her efforts, Aditi couldn't locate Siya. She inquired with the shopkeeper, who responded, "Oh yes, she came by in the morning and mentioned she would return, but she never did."
Aditi searched every nearby location for over an hour, but she couldn't find her.
Now, Aditi was in a state of panic. She abandoned her umbrella and returned to a shed. She tried calling Yug, but he didn't answer. Despite calling him four to five times, it was all in vain.
She called everyone she could but no one picked her call. She knew calling vidhi was of no use as her phone was silent.
Aditi's tears streamed down her cheeks, blending with the rain. Her eyes had turned completely red. Resolute, she made her way to the police station.
Desperate for a ride, she attempted to hail any rickshaw or cab that could take her, as the police station was quite a distance away. However, when she tried to flag down a nearby cab, it sped past so quickly that she nearly toppled over, and her head struck a stone. Blood began to seep from her head wound, but she paid no attention to it.
She ran continuously for two miles, but eventually, she ran out of breath and dropped to her knees. Finally, she managed to hail a cab.
The taxi driver watched Aditi, soaked to the skin and clutching her head, tears coursing down her cheeks as she tried to make a call. His heart went out to her.
Upon arriving at the police station, she turned to the driver and said, "I'm sorry. I don't have any money on me right now, but you can collect it later. I'm... really... so sorry."
Seeing her state, the driver allowed her to leave without insisting on payment.
Will Aditi find Siya? What decision will Yug make after seeing those pictures?
