Aditi burst into the room like a storm wrapped in silk.
The door slammed open, drawing Abhay's eyes to her immediately—and in that moment, time stilled.
She stood there, radiant in a deep red saree that clung to her like poetry. Her hair fell in waves over her shoulders, wild and free, and a delicate kamarbandh glinted around her waist, drawing his eyes in helpless fascination. Her earrings swayed with the force of her entry, catching the light, while her subtly made-up face glowed, the small bindi between her brows anchoring her fierce expression.
Abhay forgot to breathe.
She wasn't just beautiful—she was divine.
But Aditi's eyes narrowed the moment they met his. And then, she noticed him.
Clad in a tailored black suit, seated like royalty with one arm draped over the backrest, Abhay looked effortlessly commanding. The sharp lines of his jaw, the quiet mischief in his gaze—it all irritated her more than she'd admit.
"Why on earth are you sending Vidhi with Karan?" she snapped, arms folded.
Abhay didn't flinch. Instead, he rose with infuriating calmness, reached out, and took her hand in his. Before she could react, he gently tugged her forward, guiding her till she stood between his legs as he sat back on the chair.
His hands slid around her waist—possessive, yet gentle.
"Aditi," he said, voice low and steady, "your ex is getting engaged today. Don't you think we should make the moment a little more... memorable for him?" His eyes twinkled as he added, "Although, I must admit, with my princess looking this beautiful, I might need to keep an eye on you."
Aditi rolled her eyes and softly pushed him away, though not harshly this time. She turned, crossing her arms again but with less fire.
"I'm not a child, Kunwar Sa. I can take care of myself. And please—don't make today about us. This is Vidhi's moment. She deserves all the attention."
Abhay smiled softly, watching her storm off again—this time, with her saree swaying behind her like a flame.
And yet, that accidental kiss still lingered on his cheek like a secret she hadn't even noticed.
*At party *
Yug's engagement had concluded, and now it was Vivaan's turn. He glanced back, growing impatient, as Vidhi had not yet arrived.
Suddenly, the crowd began to part. Vivaan's smile broadened as he gazed toward the entrance. Vidhi made her entrance as a princess would into her palace, captivating everyone with her beauty.
She appeared as though an angel had descended from heaven. Enraptured by her elegance, Vivaan extended his hand toward Vidhi. She smiled and gracefully accepted it.
Vidhi got to the stage and Vivaan took the ring as he was about to put it in her fingers, Vidhi saw Aditi and Abhay entering.
Vidhi glanced at Vivaan, and as he looked towards the entrance, his smile widened. He took the microphone and announced, "My brother and sister-in-law have arrived. Please welcome Mr. Abhay Pratap Singh and his wife, Mrs. Aditi Abhay Pratap Singh."
Yug turned to see Abhay entering. He paused and extended his hand to Aditi, who stepped in with the poise of a queen.
Yug took two steps back and steadied himself against a table. Aditi looked at Abhay and smiled serenely.
Vidhi descended from the stage and embraced her warmly. Aditi returned the hug and suggested they continue with the event.
Vivaan and Vidhi joyfully became engaged.
