Maggie's POV
The tribesmen start to play their tribal music, preparing for the moon to appear. The tribe leader kneels, praising the arrival of their god. We follow the tribesman we met earlier, taking a hidden route to get close to where the tribesmen are conducting rituals and to find the wooden table where the children have been tied up.
Unexpectedly, a foe tribesman sees us coming, but we feed him to the zombie we captured earlier. We find the wooden table, but the children are no longer there. Another foe tribesman approaches, but his peer, who has turned into a zombie, suddenly bites him on the cheek. Then, we see the children still tied up by their hands and feet, lying down beside the tribe leader, ready to be offered to their god.
The time has come. The clouds fade, revealing the moonlight. The leader and his tribesmen look up and praise it. The tribesmen conduct the final ritual and prepare the offering. When the leader moves to wound the children for their blood, the tribesman we met earlier intervenes forcefully.
"Don't you dare harm the children, or I will not hesitate to kill you," he shouted, pointing a crossbow at the leader.
"You're crazy! Even children—you would kill and offer them to your god? You're insane!" the tribesman said angrily.
Charlie and Celestia are sobbing. The tribe leader whispers something to one of his tribesmen.
"Release the children now, or I will kill you," the tribesman threatened.
A tribesman suddenly unties the children, who immediately run to us, crying. I hug them tightly and hold their hands. Even though the children are untied, the tribesman we met still shoots the leader, causing him to fall to the ground. The zombies from earlier appear and begin to eat him. The zombies then start to devour the other tribesmen. It is indeed a bloody night. Unfortunately, when the tribesman we met returns to us, a zombie suddenly bites him. His last words are, "Live life to the fullest," before he turns into a zombie.
Earlier...
We are discussing our plan when the tribesman becomes confused about the tunnel we came through.
"Allie, did you see a two-way path in the tunnel?" the tribesman asked.
"Yes, we saw a two-way path there, and Trevor and I argued earlier about which way to go!" I informed him.
"If you took the first path, it leads you here to the forest. The second path is the way to escape!" the tribesman realized.
We run, seeing the moonlight as we return to the tunnel. As we arrive, zombies approach us, but we defend ourselves. After killing the zombies, we enter the tunnel where Allie came out earlier. We walk in, holding a lamp. As we arrive at the two-way path, Trevor suddenly appears. We feel melancholy seeing that Trevor has turned into a zombie.
"I can't believe it; Trevor was really turned into a zombie!" Duke said, feeling melancholy.
"He was a good friend, indeed," Duke said softly.
Then, Allie decides to kill him. We also see the shopkeeper, but only his clothes, skull, and bones are left. We run to the second path, escaping through the tunnel.
