Allie's POV
After the train crashed, I wake up in pain and saw everyone has passed out.
"Duke, wake up! Wake up, Duke!" I tried to rouse him, and he suddenly wakes up, coughing and in terrible pain.
"We crashed. We need to get out before the zombies approach us," I informed him.
Louis is waking up, and we begin to wake up the others.
We see a zombie near Duke's mom, and Ellisa kills it with a metal rod she picked up somewhere.
Duke, Louis, and I get out of the train. Trevor, with a wound on his head, manages to come out as well. The pregnant woman is bleeding, so we immediately help her out, followed by the young girl, and lastly, Duke's mom.
Unfortunately, the old woman can't move because of the impact. We try to carry her, but she holds my hand and says, "Stop, you're already in pain. Just leave me here. Don't worry about it. If it's my time, then it is." She closes her teary eyes.
Meanwhile, the police officer is stuck, his feet trapped in the metal. We can't get him out, and he says, "Just leave me too. I couldn't get up. I won't hate you for it because I've already accepted my fate." He salutes us with teary eyes.
Zombies are approaching aggressively.
"We need to leave now. Many zombies are coming!" Louis shouted.
We run toward the last train. Duke's mom tries to operate the train, but it isn't moving.
All the windows in the collided trains have broken, and zombies are approaching us quickly.
"Are we not leaving yet?" Trevor asked, wincing in pain.
"We need to go; zombies are here!" the pregnant woman said, scared, covering the eyes of the young girl.
Zombies reach the seventh train, hungry and eager to eat. Some zombies fall through the broken windows, and the old woman and the police officer are bitten.
The last train starts to operate, but it's slow, and the zombies are faster.
Zombies start to grab onto the train. Some are on the roof, growling and snarling. Zombies outside start breaking windows unintentionally, and the pregnant woman is attacked.
"No, help me, my child!" the pregnant woman cries, holding her womb.
Trevor, Louis, and Duke shoot the zombies coming through the window.
"She's been bitten; we need to kill her," Trevor argued.
The young girl starts to cry.
"No, she hasn't turned into a zombie yet!" Ellisa argued back.
While everyone argues, the pregnant woman forces the door open and falls to the ground, where zombies immediately devour her and her baby.
Everyone is shocked.
"No, she's carrying a baby!" I said, teary-eyed.
"She already made her decision. I'm sorry," Trevor said.
The train starts moving normally, heading to Alabama.
Maggie's POV
We arrive near the train station using Trevor's motorcycle. It looks so bloody, with many zombies everywhere and collided trains. I notice the last train is no longer there, so they've already left.
"Zombies! Let's leave now, Maggie!" Charlie commanded, and we drive all the way to Alabama's first train station.
Duke's POV
I notice my mom hasn't spoken much lately.
"Mom, are you okay?" I asked softly.
"Yes, what's the matter? Do you need anything, my son?" she responded.
"No, I'm just worried," I replied.
"Don't worry about me; worry about yourself," she said softly.
Allie's POV
I see the young girl looking out the window with teary eyes. I approach her.
"Hi, little girl, what's your name?" I asked softly.
She doesn't respond, so I hug her.
After some time...
"Celestia, that's my name," the little girl said softly as I touch her hair.
"Oh, Celestia, that's a heavenly name!" I responded.
"You know what, you're around the same age as Charlie," I said softly.
"Who's Charlie?" she asked softly.
"He's a little boy with his sister Maggie. I hope you can see them when we arrive in Alabama!" I responded, and she smiles.
After a few minutes...
Duke's mom, Ellisa, looks pale and cold. She suddenly vomits blood.
"Hey, Mom, what's happening to you?" Duke asked, worried.
Louis notices Ellisa's foot, which has been bitten by a zombie, and Trevor starts to worry too.
"Duke, she's been bitten!" Louis said.
"No way, that can't be. She just vomited blood!" Duke said, holding his mom's hand.
"Look at her foot; it's been bitten!" Trevor said.
Duke realizes his mother has indeed been bitten by a zombie.
"Mom, what really happened? Maybe we can just cut it off again. Mom, please no!" Duke said, crying.
"Duke, I got bitten when we crashed. When I woke up, I realized my foot had been bitten by a zombie below me. I hid it because I knew you would worry about me," Ellisa said, crying.
"Mom, I can't live without you!" Duke said, crying. His mom decides to move near the train door.
"Duke, you have to live for me. I love you always; don't forget that!" Ellisa said. Duke approached her, and she kissed him on the forehead.
"I love you too, Mom!" Duke said softly as his mother starts to turn into a zombie.
Louis and Trevor forcibly move Duke away as his mother becomes a zombie.
"I'm sorry, Duke!" I said softly, teary-eyed.
"We have to let her go!" Louis said.
Ellisa, now a zombie, looks at us blankly.
"Sorry, but we have to kill her!" Trevor said.
"I will do it!" Duke said, in tears.
Duke takes out his gun and says his last words to his mother.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I have to do this. I love you always!" Duke said and shot his mother in the head. The door opens, and she falls out.
