💜FALINE'S POV:
Late at night, April, and I entered the TCRI building, and we noticed as we got inside that it was very quiet. There were no guards at the desk.
"It's very quiet, and I don't like it," I said as I clung to April.
"It's okay, girl. Let's just keep moving forward and find out what Shredder and Stockman are planning," April said as I nodded and went through a door that led to the laboratory.
When we got to the lab, we could hear voices. April opened the blinds and peered through them. I sat beside her and peered through also. We saw Shredder with Stockman along with two Foot soldiers, Karai, and two thugs. I immediately remembered who they were. They were Bebop and Rocksteady. I think they must've escaped too.
"It's those men," I whispered to April.
"The ones you reported to the police a month ago?" she whispered back.
"Yes. Their names are Bebop and Rocksteady. What would Shredder want with these two?"
"I don't know. Let's watch and see."
We looked at the machine that Shredder was next to and saw some people ooze being put into two darts and a canister. Stockman came back with what looked like a tranquilliser gun and put the two darts filled with the purple ooze into it.
"Now all we need are test subjects," Stockman said as he handed the gun to Shredder.
"Candidates that will easily fall under my command," Shredder declared. "Large in size. Low in intellect."
With that said, he pointed the gun at Bebop and Rocksteady and shot them with the two darts. When the darts hit them, they collapsed on the ground, their human forms changing into something else. April and I watched in horror as Rocksteady's hair started to fall out, and his nose turned into a horn. He gained more muscles in his arms but got bigger around his body. Bebop's nose turned into a snout, and like his friend, he gained more muscles in his arms but got bigger around his body, too. Bebop pulled out the dart from his neck and threw it on the ground in front of where April and I were hiding.
Then, an air tank hit the metal wall we were hiding behind. It opened enough for it to lead into the lab. April pulled off the wall, and I followed her into the lab. We slowly and quietly crawled into the smoke-filled room. April grabbed the dart and put it in the pocket of her jacket. We looked at the inmates and saw that they had transformed into a rhinoceros and a warthog.
I gasped. They were the mutants from my nightmare!
"Miraculous," Stockman said, looking at his computer screen in amazement. "Inside every human, there's a dormant gene which ties us to our animal ancestors. It's as if that purple ooze has returned them to their rightful place in the animal kingdom."
We have dormant genes that tie us to our animal ancestors? I thought in wonder. Bebop's animal is a warthog. Rocksteady's one is a rhinoceros. But me? What would mine be?
"Rock!" Bebop the warthog chortled as he and his pal looked at each other. "You're a rhinoceros."
Rocksteady, the rhino, looked his partner over but had no idea what sort of animal he was. "And you're a...I didn't know what you are."
"Alright, let me go. Let me look," Bebop said, looking at his reflection in a glass cabinet. "I'm a..." he put his purple sunglasses on his forehead. "Huh...I'm a little piggy."
A little piggy? More like a big FAT piggy, I thought in disgust.
"You're a warthog," Stockman corrected him.
