🩶NORMAL POV:
Faline and Rocco arrived at the cinema. They went inside and sat in the middle of the theatre with about ten other people around them.
The movie started to play, and Rocco leaned back in his seat, gazing at the giant movie screen watching the people do whatever.
After the movie, they went into a photobooth to take some pictures of themselves. They sat side by side on a stool and waited.
Instantly, a bright flash shot out, scaring Rocco as he jumped up and down on the stool, causing Faline to turn to him and nearly fall off.
A second flash came when Faline gave Rocco a grumpy stern face.
A third one happened when Rocco shoved Faline's face with his hand, and finally, the fourth flash came as the pair smiled.
Once they were out, they looked at the photos.
In the first one, Rocco looked like he had sat on a nail while Faline looked like she had been shoved.
In the second one, Faline was grumpily staring at Rocco.
In the third, Rocco was shoving Faline's face away, and in the last one, they were smiling. They looked at each one and then at each other with raised brows.
Afterwards, they sat across from each other at a table in an outdoor café. The waitress brought them each a plate of cake and a mug of hot chocolate.
Rocco had never had cake or hot chocolate before, so he just stared at them.
He glanced at Faline. She munched on her cake, getting a few specks and icing on her lips, then drank a sip from her mug and smiled.
Rocco picked up his mug by the handle and swallowed a sip. Instantly, his eyes shot wide, and he panted while fanning his mouth with his hand.
Faline just giggled at his drama. She lightly moved the plate of cake toward him. He nibbled on the edge. His eyes lit up, and he smiled. It was delicious.
After the cake and hot chocolate, the pair sat on a bench. Rocco told Faline some funny stories that had happened a few weeks before, which made her laugh.
Then Faline brought Rocco to the graveyard where they sat before their parents' grave. They said that they had met and reunited before laying down some flowers they had bought from a flower shop.
They left the graveyard, and they showed one another a cool thing they could do.
Rocco showed Faline how good he was at playing the recorder, and she smiled and clapped her hands.
Then Faline showed off her ninja moves Master Splinter had taught her that he thought were fantastamazing.
Later on, they stood on the bridge in Central Park. They each held a stick in their hand and dropped it into the water below.
They watched them go under the bridge and then moved to the other side and waited. A second later, Faline's stick came out first. They cheered and laughed.
At the lair
Once Donnie finally concluded his discovery about the purple ooze, he took a small portion of the ooze in a small vile. He ran carefully over to Leo, wanting to show his older brother what he had just discovered.
"Oh my god. Oh my god. Leo!" Donnie said, running over to his brother, who was sharpening his katana while thinking about what he had heard Rocco say to Faline earlier on, repeating his name a few more times. "My gosh. My gosh. This is amazing! Leo, Leo. Okay. You're not going to believe this."
Donnie took a breather and began. "Okay, I made a solution from a sample of the purple ooze, right, to expedite analysis of the isotope? But while I was waiting for it to catalyse, I started thinking, if the purple ooze can turn humans into animals, perhaps if properly reengineered...watch this. Watch this."
Leo got up from his seat, wondering what Donnie had discovered. Donnie held the vile and dropped some little droplets of the ooze onto his three-fingered hand, and it instantly morphed into a giant green five-fingered human hand.
"It could turn us into humans," Donnie said, staring at his hand in awe as it quickly changed back to his original hand.
Leo pondered about this discovery. He wondered if it was possible to become human, then he wouldn't have to watch Faline from the shadows anymore. He could go out in broad daylight and even take her to a restaurant for a date.
"If we could get our hands on more of this stuff, it could be life changing! Faline and Rocco could be normal humans again," Donnie said, being so happy.
Leo knew that even though it could help turn his girlfriend and her brother back to normal, he didn't want to end up risking his family's lives. "We don't need that kind of change," he told Donnie bluntly.
Donnie looked upset at this, but he knew not to mess with something that shouldn't be tampered with. "Okay. You're right. To blend in with humans could compromise our strategic advantage. We have a system that works. We shouldn't mess with the formula," he said in a monotone but sad voice.
He started to walk away, but Leo stopped him. "And Donnie. Listen. You can't say a word of this to the others. Not even Rocco or Faline."
Donnie hated lying. Especially to Faline. He was upset that he couldn't tell his best friend and sister, but he couldn't go against Leo's orders. As they both separated unknown to them, the youngest turtle brother heard the whole thing. Thinking about being human, about being outside in daylight.
