I followed Marina towards Andromeda's office. As I walked in, my jaw almost dropped to the floor. Standing against the wall talking to Andromeda was the most gorgeous girl I had ever seen. Obviously with being a dragon raider I had learned to hide my emotions so no one could read me, but this was hard to hide. She had wavy blond hair and striking sky blue eyes. She was dressed in a white jean jacket and black leggings so she must have finished training and had time to change. I got to admire her for a minute before Andromeda noticed us. I admit, Andromeda is pretty too.

"Thank you, Marina, for bringing her to me." Andromeda said, getting a smile from Marina as she nodded then left in a hurry. I had been in here quite a few times and I found it strange that she headed towards the dungeons, dining hall, and arena, not the bedrooms and offices. I saw a scar across the blond girl's arm then looked up at her and saw recognition flash in her eyes. In a flash she changed form. Her claws extended, gold dragon wings came out of her back and she bared her teeth. I wasn't even fazed by this, "Relax blondie, I don't bite. Well, at least I won't bite" I said.

"Marigold, stand down." Andromeda yelled. She quickly went back to human form, her guard still up. I let my claws extend half way to show I meant business.

"You might not bite but you sure do scratch." She said dully. I retracted them and turned to Andromeda. "Umbra, this is my apprentice Marigold." Andromeda said, "I brought you here because I have an offer." Andromeda said. "Well then spit it out, I don't have all day." I said sassily, sure to get a reaction out of her. Andromeda rolled her eyes but continued. "I would like to invite you to join our team. Sage is great in mental mechanics and I'm sure he can help you get stronger. You will also be an important ally." Andromeda continued. "The prophecy says we need twins of darkness so it must be referring to you and Onyx." I nodded, weighing my options. I finally came to a decision. "I will make my decision if you allow me to consult Kaia." I announced with confidence. "Actually, we already asked Kaia and she wants you to join. Unfortunately, Kaia has escaped so you may not talk to her." I nodded. "Then I will join you." Andromeda nodded. "Your training will start tomorrow. Marigold will show you to your room."

I smirked at Marigold. She rolled her eyes then walked out the door motioning for me to follow. "Let's go, sunshine." I said to Marigold. As we reached the door to my room I studied the carving. It was a black cat surrounded by skulls with a crown on its head. "Are you gonna go in or just stand there?" Marigold asked, completely annoyed. "Sorry Blondie." I said, I opened the door then turned around to face Marigold. Suddenly, I saw a girl with brown hair and the most beautiful sea green eyes I had ever seen storming down the hall. I will admit Marigold's eyes are prettier, though if things didn't work out she didn't seem like a bad second choice.

"Marigold, we need to talk. Aspen is completely ignoring me." The girl said to Marigold.

"Hold on, Brooke. I need to finish helping Umbra get oriented." Marigold told her. "Meet me in front of my room, okay?"

"Okay." Brooke eyed me and grabbed the collar of my jacket. She whispered in my ear. "You better not lay a finger on her, or else you won't have any fingers left." She let go of my collar and walked off. I smiled internally. Feisty. Definitely a good second choice.

Marigold turned back to me. "When the first bell rings, you come downstairs tomorrow, okay? We are probably doing battle training again tomorrow." She held a dagger made of light to my throat. "I can't wait to claw your face off."

The dagger disappeared and she walked off. I chuckled to myself. Marigold is strong and she has attitude. Even if she wasn't beautiful, I would still want to date her if I go by personality. Suddenly, Marigold stuck her head into the door, "Hey, Umbra, we might need your help with this."

I smirked, "Ok sunshine. I'm coming." She glared at me. "Don't. Call. Me. Sunshine." I just chuckled in response. Marigold stormed off to her room as I walked into Brooke's room and looked at her. I immediately understood what the problem was. "Well, the quickest way to make a boy like you is to make him jealous. Pretend to date someone and he'll be desperate to date you." I stated. I had had my fair share of boys attempting to get me to date them. "And who do you think I should do that with?" she said, raising an eyebrow.

I grinned, "I don't know sweetheart." I said, although I definitely knew who she should do it with. I was walking back to my room when she suddenly rushed out. "Okay, I know that we haven't known each other for that long, but will you do it? I mean you obviously like girls and-" I cut her off, "No problem sweetheart." Out of the corner of my eye I saw Aspen walking towards us. I quickly wrapped my arms around Brooke's waist and kissed her gently on the cheek. She seemed shocked but then saw Aspen and quickly masked her emotion. "Goodnight sweetie." I said with a wink. I walked into my room, kicked off my sneakers and jumped on the california king bed that was waiting to be slept on. I dozed off, thinking about plans for the next day
