It's almost been 2 months since we were brought here.
We haven't seen much of Andrew in the last few weeks. He's gone back to being isolated and distant. It sucks not seeing him much anymore, I was kind of starting to tolerate him again.
Over the last few months we have all gotten stronger and better at our abilities. Liberty can now create massive tornadoes, wiping out landscapes. While Noah can now evaporate and condense water, which he uses to create rain and clouds. He's been trying to master the whole weather thing. Andrew's been around a few times. He is the strongest; he can move enormous amounts of land or even emerge small islands. Last week he caused a huge earthquake which lasted for 4 minutes.
I have learned how to clear out bigger amounts of space with a more efficient use of energy. Last week I cremated 200 hectares in under 10 seconds.
This week Albert has separated the girls and boys. He wants me and Liberty to focus on our flying while Andrew and Noah enhance their mental abilities, by learning how to do more things through telekinesis.
We were currently having a break in the lounge. Liberty and I sat in the large, quiet room eating some snacks. The boys strolled in a few moments later.
"Hey guys" Liberty said with a gleaming smile.
They acknowledged her with a nod. They slowly gathered next to us, forming a circle. It was slightly awkward with the new separations.
"When did you guys first realise you had powers?" Noah asked breaking the silence.
"I was about 8 and I blew my neighbours dog's house away" Liberty answered openly. We all laughed lightly.
"What about you Mads?" Andrew asked intently. I let my eyes drift to his, hesitating before answering.
"5. Set my neighbours kitchen on fire." I stated bluntly. "Noah?" I questioned trying to shift the attention as I tore my eyes off Andrew's.
We awaited his answer but I could feel Andrew's lingering gaze on me.
"I was 7. I was crying because of some stupid argument with my sister, then my bedroom flooded" We all laughed again. "Andrew." He stated.
"don't remember" he replied dryly - killing the mood. "What 'phenomenon' thing did you guys do that made Albert find us" he asked rejuvenating the flow of conversation.
"Typhoon...we don't really get those here." Liberty answered.
"Tsunami" Noah stated, we all saw that coming.
"Dust storm" Andrew let out with hesitation and a hint of pain.
"I- did you guys injure people" I asked, remembering what I did. I felt an overwhelming presence of guilt as I remembered the people I hurt.
They nodded silently.
I looked down, trying to hold my tears in. " do you guys ever feel guilty?" I questioned.
"Sometimes" Andrew said, "but don't let it get to you, we couldn't control it" he reassured.
I took a deep breath in as I let his words sink in. "Yeah.." I let out quietly.
"So what did you do?" Noah asked, going back to the question.
I tried to answer but the words kept getting stuck in my throat. Flashes of the burning building, collapsing pillars and trapped people kept haunting me.
Liberty reached out to me wrapping her pale arms around me. "It's okay Maddison" she attempted to make me feel better.
"I set my school on fire. We watched it burn to the ground" I finally let out.
Somehow,I felt better, like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I realised we all shared trauma and could relate to each other.
7:19pm
Our first mission is coming up in 2 days, I let this thought penetrate my mind. I was nervous but excited.
I rested my head on my pillow as I continued to let the thoughts breeze through my mind.
