Andrew's POV
We had arrived at the main region of damage noticing the vast destruction that the creature had left behind.
The sharp jagged edges of broken trees pierced the night sky, while large unsettling footprints littered the park. Trash cans had been knocked over leaving a sea of garbage scattered across the green grass.
I turned to the lake noticing the water was almost drained - it looked more like a puddle.
I let out a groan while rolling my eyes.
"Why do we have the most boring job" I sighed as I turned to Liberty. I grew a closer connection to her much faster than with Noah and Maddie as she reminded me a lot of my younger sister.
Liberty let out a light giggle. "It's not boring, you're just negative." She replied.
A gust of wind formed around me carrying me across the ground. Liberty's iris' glowed a light shade of grey.
"you start over there" she said letting me drop to the ground aggressively. I picked myself up off the floor groaning in frustration.
"What do we even do?" I asked clearing my throat realising I sounded whiny.
"You start regrowing trees and repairing branches and I'll deal with the trash." she answers logically.
We finished the whole park making it look as if nothing happened.
"So what are we gonna do about the lake" I asked turning to her.
"I'll fly and look for a water source wait here." She said shooting up into the sky.
She drops down about 5 minutes later.
"There's a river, a while East from here, do you think you can make a tube that stretches across those buildings?" She asks pointing ahead of us. "I can create a suction force away from the lake" she continues.
I focused my energy in my hands and on the Earth beneath us. Vines stretched out of the ground and intertwined creating a tight seal. They wrapped around each other forming the shape of a hollow cylinder.
As I concentrated my energy in my hands, the structure began lifting and stretching up and over the buildings and trees surrounding us.
Once we finished filling the lake we returned to the ship to meet the others. We arrived before Noah and Maddy, taking our seats in the aircraft.
A few moments later they joined us. I noticed Maddison slightly limping behind Noah with a few grazes on her cheek and temple.
I furrow my brows as a wave of concern washes over me but I quickly brush it off.
They take their seats and we begin to take off.
6:36 am
The sun had now risen as we arrived back on the grounds.
We headed over to the meeting room where Albert was going to discuss the mission. Maddison had drifted back slightly behind us.
As her pace slowed she let out loud, shallow, quick breaths. I turned around as the sound began irritating me but that feeling was soon replaced with concern when I lay eyes on her.
She dragged her feet as if they were boulders. Huddled over holding tightly onto her abdomen with one hand. The color had faded from her skin, swear droplets rested on her forehead. Her other hand moved to her mouth as she began coughing.
"Guys, go get help!" I shouted as I moved over to her. Liberty and Noah looked at us then quickly sprinted around the corner to the meeting room.
I wrapped my arm around her waist causing her to lean on me.
"What happened, what's wrong" I asked, feeling useless and unhelpful.
Before she could say anything she began coughing, this time her palm was now cradling blood.
Without hesitation I lifted her off the ground. I rushed to find the others.
As I turned the corner Noah, Libby and George were running towards us.
Maddison began chocking on the blood, as she continued to lay in agony. Her eyes began to close.
"Maddison no. Look at me. Keep your eyes open." I said firmly. Her eyes opened and closed continuously.
"Get her to medical" George instructed.
We all began moving down the hall quickly. I burst through the door George had guided us to.
Linda and Albert were in medical attire standing over a table, medical bed and other equipment.
"Place her down on the bed" Albert said. I quickly did so, moving back observing her now unconscious figure.
"You guys need to leave. Now." Albert said as he began putting on gloves.
George stepped in front of me blocking my view as he gestured towards the door. I stood still, the feeling of anger overpowering my body. George crossed his arms making his mark.
Linda stepped forward. "Guys we have to preform surgery, you being in here is distracting. Please just step out we'll inform you of everything happening to Maddison." she reassured politely.
I broke eye contact with George turning away. I notice Liberty and Noah behind me.
We all moved into the hallway as the door closed forcefully.
I hope she's okay.
