Jungkook and Y/n are a married couple. Y/n fell for him at first sight, but Jungkook doesn't even act normal towards her. Jk's father is a visible businessman, leading him to spend less time with the family. Due to this, Jungkook becomes exceptionally close to his mother. It's not that he doesn't love his dad or holds any hatred towards him, but whenever their family makes plans, his dad is never involved. This gradually makes Jungkook a bit upset and distant from his father. Most of Jungkook's time is spent with his mom, resulting in a strong bond between them.
Unfortunately, one day, his mom meets with an accident and passes away, leaving a serious impact on Jungkook. Since her passing, Jungkook becomes noticeably upset and loses his cheerful behaviour. The vibrant connection he had with his mom is replaced by a cold and distant aura.
Jungkook is now scared of losing people, so he avoids getting close to anyone, thinking that getting attached will only lead to being abandoned. This weighs heavily on him, and he finishes his studies in midst of depression. Later, he decides to work in his father's business, finding comfort in his professional life after going through such a personal loss.
Y/n serves as Jk's father's personal assistant. Her past isn't without of trauma as her father was a heavy drinker, causing daily arguments in their home. The constant conflicts lead to her parents' divorce, and after the separation, her mother leaves, leaving Y/n behind. Her father remarries, and at the age of 12, Y/n is left on her own. Despite facing numerous challenges, she perseveres, completes her graduation, and secures a job in Jk's father's company.
Impressed by her dedication and hard work, Jk's father appoints her as his personal assistant. He treats her not just as an worker but like his own daughter. Y/n reciprocates this familial treatment, as she never experienced parental love before. With Jk's father caring for her like a daughter, Y/n finally feels a sense of love and belonging. Interestingly, Jk's father, who never received the same level of affection from Jungkook, finds comfort and a familial connection through his caring relationship with Y/n.
Jk's father sees Y/n as the ideal person to restore Jungkook to his former self. That's why he request Y/n to marry him as a favor. Y/n already has feelings for Jungkook, and when her father proposes the marriage, she was both happy and puzzled. Though she already has feelings for Jungkook, she initially refuses the proposal. Because she thought she wasn't capable of fulfilling his father's request.
However, her father eventually reveals Jungkook's backstory, and learning about his struggles deeply affects her. Feeling a sense of compassion and a desire to help him heal, Y/n takes a few days to contemplate the situation. At last, she decides to say yes, realizing that she wants to be a source of support and comfort for him.
After convincing Y/n to accept the marriage proposal, Jk's father proceeds to persuade Jungkook, who initially rejects the idea as he prefers living alone and doesn't want to be with anyone. However, faced with his father's insistence, he reluctantly agrees to the marriage. Despite not being emotionally close to his father, he obediently follows his directives. Once both are convinced, Jk's father organizes a date for them to talk and get to know each other. However, Y/n patiently waits for nearly three hours, only to receive a text from him saying, "I'm busy, Y/n. Sorry, I can't meet you today."
Y/n feels deeply hurt as Jungkook intentionally ignores her, even though she was aware of his struggles. He purposefully distances himself from others, fearing attachment because he believes that anyone he becomes attached to will eventually leave, much like his mother. Knowing the stress it would cause Jk's father, Y/n chooses not to reveal this information to him.
They both eventually get married, and Y/n expected that after getting married Jungkook will be different towards her. But he proves her wrong by uttering this in cold tone on their first night...
"I married you because my father wanted me to. I didn't wanted to get married. So, don't expect anything from me."
