FLASHBACK
After Jungkook left, She felt completely shattered, with no hope left. Negative thoughts consumed her mind entirely. Eventually, she took the step she had once considered but abandoned after seeing Jungkook. However, she believed that now, only by taking that step, would she find peace. Before doing so, she decided to leave a note for him, expressing all the things she had wanted to tell him since the beginning but never had the chance.
"I don't even know why I'm writing this; it's not like he cares," she whispered amid her tears.
As Y/n poured her heart out onto the paper, her tears stained the words, a testament to the pain she felt inside. Memories of happier times with Jungkook flashed through her mind, each one a bittersweet reminder of what could have been. She wished she could turn back time, erase the mistakes, and rewrite their story together.
But deep down, she knew that some wounds could never fully heal. She had reached a breaking point, a moment of clarity amidst the chaos of her emotions. Leaving the note behind was her final act of desperation, a last attempt to make sense of the mess her life had become.
"I wish things were different," she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the sound of her sobs. "I wish I could have been enough for him." With a heavy heart, she placed the note where she knew Jungkook would find it, hoping against hope that he would understand, that he would forgive her for leaving him behind.
*Flashback ends*
After reading Yn's note, Jungkook froze. His body seemed to stop functioning, overwhelmed with emotions. Seeing her words made him feel like his breath had been taken away. He wanted to scream, cry, and lash out, but all he could do was stand there, clutching the note, tears streaming down his face. He couldn't believe what he had just read.
"Did she really..." Jungkook whispered, barely audible, tears still flowing uncontrollably. Then realization struck him, and he began yelling, tossing the note aside.
"No, no, no, this can't be happening, Y/n, you can't leave me like this," he screamed between his cries as he searched every corner of the house, calling out her name. He couldn't believe she would leave him.
"Where could she go at this hour? This note must be a lie; Y/n didn't write this. How could she leave me when she loved me so much?" His desperation grew as he pleaded for her to come back.
"Y/n, where are you? I know you're here somewhere. Please, just show yourself. I'm sorry for everything. Please don't leave me," he sobbed, collapsing to his knees.
With each passing moment, he felt himself slipping into insanity. He never imagined such a thing could happen. If only he had known, he would have confessed his love for her long ago. He would have expressed everything he had been holding back. He realized now that in his pursuit of her happiness, he had forgotten that he was her happiness. He had pushed her away without realizing it.
Jungkook stood up abruptly, he can't lose her. He didn't even thanked her enough for coming into his life, for making him smile again, for making him believe in love again. He was completely broken, her words echoing in his mind. Despite her decision, she had still thought of him, that how courage it took her to do something like this.
Running frantically, crying and screaming, he hoped to find her, to hear her voice, to feel her comforting presence once more. But she remained elusive, nowhere to be found.
Exhausted and trembling from excessive crying, Jungkook collapsed, his heart pounding, his body shaking with despair. Had he truly lost her? The thought tormented him, filling his mind with unbearable pain. Unable to do anything else, he sat down, his eyes falling on the note she had written for him. Clutching it tightly, he read it again and again, searching for any clue that might lead him to her.
After several readings, his blurry vision focused on a particular line: "And after I'm gone, if you ever think of me, I'll always be up there, just as I always am." "Up there..." he murmured, realization dawning upon him. Her room upstairs had already been checked thoroughly, leaving only one possibility - the rooftop.
"Rooftop..." Jungkook whispered, his mind racing with terrifying possibilities he desperately hoped weren't true. Without wasting a moment, he dashed from the living room towards the rooftop, his heart pounding with fear and regret. Negative thoughts consumed him, despite his efforts to stay positive.
"Please, Y/n, don't do anything," he pleaded as he ran, tears streaming down his face. "I need you, Y/n. I need you. I never got the chance to confess my love, to show you how much you mean to me. Please forgive me this time. I promise I won't do anything to upset you again. Just hang in there a little longer. Please, don't leave me alone in this world like my mother did. I can't bear the pain of losing someone again. Please, Y/n," he whimpered, his voice breaking with emotion.
As he ran, Jungkook couldn't shake the memories of his mother, how he had desperately cried out for her to stay, to not leave him alone in the world. The pain of that loss still haunted him, and now, facing the possibility of losing Y/n, it threatened to overwhelm him once again.
"Please, don't leave me, Y/n. I beg you, please," he pleaded, his words carried away by the wind as he raced towards the rooftop, praying that he would reach her in time.
Jungkook's feet pounded against the floor as he ascended the stairs, each step feeling heavier than the last. Memories of happier times with Y/n flashed before his eyes, intensifying the ache in his heart. He remembered their laughter, their shared moments of joy, and the warmth of her touch. How could he have been so blind to her pain?
"I can't lose her," he whispered to himself, his voice trembling with desperation. "I won't let her slip away."
After some time, Jungkook finally reached the rooftop and found the door closed from inside. His heart sank, panic gripping him as he realized she was inside. Tears flowed uncontrollably from his eyes as he pleaded with her.
"Y/n, please open the door. Please, I beg you, don't do this," he screamed, the fear of losing her paralyzing him. He pounded on the door, crying and screaming, but there was no response. Desperation consumed him, and he began kicking the door until it finally gave way.
Entering the rooftop, his eyes scanned the area frantically, searching for any sign of her. The wind whispered softly, carrying with it a sense of foreboding. Jungkook's heart raced as he called out her name, his voice echoing into the night.
"Y/n, please, if you can hear me, please don't do anything rash," he pleaded, his words carried away by the wind. "I'm here now, and I love you more than anything. Please, let me help you."
But the rooftop remained silent, save for the sound of Jungkook's ragged breathing and his continuous sobs. He felt a pang of despair grip his chest as he wasn't able to see her anywhere. Then, he caught a glimpse of her standing at the edge. His heart stopped, adrenaline coursing through his veins as he ran towards her, desperate to stop her from taking such a drastic step.
"Y/n!" Jungkook screamed, rushing towards her, his hand outstretched to grab hers and prevent her from falling. But before he could reach her, she was gone, in blur just like he always feared and he couldn't do anything.
Smiling, tears streamed down her face as she uttered her final words, "I love you, Jungkook. I always did."
