As the male voice on the other end of the line affectionately called Y/n "baby," Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his grip tightening around the phone.
"Excuse me, who is this?" he demanded, his tone sharp with irritation. The voice on the other end, clueless to Jungkook's identity, continued with unabashed familiarity.
"Oh, come on, Y/n, don't play sly with me. It's been ages since we talked. I've missed hearing your sweet voice," the male voice cooed.
Jungkook's frustration bubbled over, his eyebrows furrowing in disbelief.
"Listen here, buddy," he interjected, his voice dripping with annoyance. "Y/n is not available right now, and I don't appreciate you calling her 'baby.' Now, who the hell are you?"
That man chuckled, thinking it was some kind of playful game.
"Stop playing coy, Y/n. It's me, Hyun-yu! How could you forget your dear old boyfriend?" Jungkook's jaw practically hit the floor. "Boyfriend? Seriously? Buddy, I hate to burst your bubble, but Y/n is my wife, and we're very much married."
There was a pause on the other end, followed by Hyun-yu's laughter.
"Oh, come on, Jungkook, that's a good one. But seriously, where's Y/n? You know I can't go a day without talking to her." Now Jungkook was getting irritated. "Look, Hyun-yu, or whoever you are, Y/n is married to me. And if you're really her friend, you should know that."
Hyun-yu's tone shifted, becoming defensive. "Married? Y/n never said anything about getting hitched. And I'm her first love, her one and only boyfriend!" Jungkook couldn't help but snort.
"First love? One and only? Listen, buddy, I don't know what fantasy world you're living in, but Y/n and I are happily married. And if you think you're her boyfriend, then I must be her long-lost twin brother!"
Hyun-yu wasn't having it. "Hey, don't try to pull a fast one on me, Jungkook. I know Y/n better than anyone, and she would have told me if she got married. Now, put her on the phone."
"I can't, she's in the shower," Jungkook replied, trying to keep his cool. "And even if she weren't, I wouldn't let you talk to her after the way you've been carrying on." Hyun-yu huffed.
"Fine, Mr. Protective Husband. But mark my words, if you're lying to me and causing Y/n any grief, you'll have me to answer to." Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all.
"Sure thing, Mr. First Love. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have better things to do than argue with someone who clearly has no idea what he's talking about."
Jungkook gritted his teeth, struggling to maintain his composure.
"And, I don't care what she did or didn't tell you. The fact remains that she's my wife, and I'm her husband. End of story," he stated firmly. The man scoffed.
"Oh, sure, just because you put a ring on her finger, you think you're entitled to her? Trust me, Jungkook, you don't know the first thing about her," he replied, his tone dripping with superiority. Jungkook felt a surge of anger rise within him.
"And you do? You think you know her better than I do just because you dated her in college?" he shot back, his voice rising in frustration.
