The next morning, Y/n woke up and headed to the kitchen, only to find him already there. "Jungkook," she said, catching his attention. "Oh, Y/n, you're awake," he replied with a charming smile. His presence so early in the morning flustered her. She couldn't help but wonder why he was in the kitchen and what he was doing there.
Stepping closer, she asked, "What brings you to the kitchen at this hour, Jungkook?" Instead of giving a direct answer, he responded with a question of his own, "Isn't it obvious? I'm cooking breakfast for us, Y/n," he said, flashing his adorable bunny smile. She was speechless. Jungkook was really cooking breakfast for them?
"What?" she asked, surprised. "Yes, Y/n, I'm making breakfast for us. Your hand isn't fully healed yet, and I don't have much to do at the office today, so I thought I'd give it a try," he explained, pouring pancake batter onto the pan he'd set up. Y/n felt touched by his thoughtfulness. It reminded her of the caring Jungkook he used to be with his mother. With a smile on her face, she simply watched him cook.
She attempted to help by making coffee, but he insisted, "I'll handle everything today, Y/n. Just go and sit at the dining table. I'll bring the breakfast once it's ready." Though her heart wasn't ready to let him do everything alone, she tried to help again. However, Jungkook gently guided her out of the kitchen and seated her at the dining table.
"Hey," she tried to stop him."Stay quiet, sit here, and don't you dare come into the kitchen. Everything will be done soon," he insisted before returning to his tasks. She smiled and muttered to herself, "How cute."
Later, Jungkook brought the pancakes and coffee to the table. "Here," he said, placing them down. "Thank you," Y/n responded, to which Jungkook smiled and replied, "Not to mention, but my pleasure. Let's eat now." They began their breakfast, and as Y/n took a bite of the pancakes, she was pleasantly surprised by how delicious they were.
"It's so tasty," she complimented, making him smile. "I know, I know. I learned to make these from my mom. She used to tell me that if you ever feel hungry and I'm not around to cook for you, you can make these pancakes because they're easy to make," he reminisced, his smile fading slightly as memories of his mother flooded back.Y/n felt her heart ache seeing Jungkook's painful smile.
"Your mother raised you so well, Jungkook. She must be so proud of you, seeing you do the things she taught you with such dedication," Y/n said, gently placing her hands on his and stroking them. Jungkook looked at her and smiled lightly. Then they enjoyed their breakfast together. Afterward, Jungkook left for his office, leaving Y/n alone once again.
But she felt much better now, as he was starting to return to his former self—the same Jungkook he was with his mother: soft, caring, loving, and charming. He was still charming, though.
"I don't know, if you'll ever love me back or not, Jungkook, but I just want you to become the same Jungkook again and live your life happily. Your father loves you so much, Jungkook, and I really hope that one day you'll realize this," she said as she watched him fade away, as he left for his office, standing at the house gate.
After that day, their relationship with each other improved. He started acting more normally with her. They would laugh together at each other's jokes and silliness, eat dinner and breakfast together, and sometimes cook and watch movies together.
During this time, Jungkook began to develop feelings for Y/n. Whenever he woke up in the morning, she was the first thing on his mind. Just seeing her face in the morning made all his problems disappear. Coming home tired from the office, having dinner with Y/n would relieve all of his exhaustion.
He had never met anyone besides his mother with whom he could share all his sorrows without any hesitation, and she was always ready to listen. This made Jungkook as happy as it made him upset. No matter how hard he tried to overcome his fear of being abandoned by someone again, he couldn't do it. Whenever he felt himself getting closer to Y/n, he started to feel that pain again, causing him to distance himself from her.
Y/n also noticed Jungkook's change in behavior towards her, but whenever she saw him distancing himself, she would dismiss her thoughts and tell herself it's just in her mind. Their days continued like this.
After a few weeks, things were going quite smoothly between them until Jungkook started facing problems in his business.
