Between 1994 and 2009, Damon Salvatore was nowhere to be seen. Nobody knew what he was up to, not even his brother. The only person who knew anything wasn't talking to anybody, not even to his own siblings. The two would see each other in secret.

At the end of 2010, after an attempt on his lover's life by his own brother and their so-called friends. Damon and Klaus vanished. Leaving behind a dead doppelganger, a dead vampire-doppelganger, and a dead werewolf. Klaus vowed that if he ever saw Elijah again, he would rip him apart after revealing the true location of their siblings.

The two found themselves in a small California town that was once territory to the renowned and respected Hale Pack. Klaus quite liked the peaceful town. Even Damon was able to breathe.

Since they were trying to keep a somewhat low profile, they chose a house on the smaller size for them. Moving next door to John Lahey and his son Isaac, and across the street from the Whitmore family seemed like your average neighborhood. Until it wasn't.

The couple knew the tell-tale signs of abuse. They heard the fights. They saw the aftermath. Now, the question was: How long will they listen and watch before stepping in?  

AN: Damon never mistreated Caroline. He still taunted his brother, mildly flirted with Elena only to piss off Stefan. Damon was a total nuisance to everyone, including Sheila and Bonnie. The tomb was still opened because of Anna, Damon could care less since he is with Klaus.
