"All right, any more questions?" Sunghoon announced as he folded his arms above his chest. "If not, then we'll wrap up the meeting here." Jay sighed, feeling the overwhelming pressure slip past him as the meeting was over. The idea of standing in front of a crowd still gave him anxiety to this day.
It had been over a week since the party, and everyone was still reminiscing over the event. Surely, they were hoping for another similar event sooner or later.
Everyone rushed out of the room, conversing between each other. Sunghoon powered off the projector, running his fingers through his hair. His eyes landed on Jay, who was immersed in organizing the room. He placed the remote on the wooden stand in front of him and made his way over to the younger. "Sometimes you should ask Jungwon for help too." He said.
Jay moved his gaze up, smiling lightly. "Ah, no need. He's busy most of the time," he curtly replied, to which in response, Sunghoon nodded. He leaned on the table, folding his arms over his chest, his gaze still on Jay as he cleaned up. His mind wandered off to the thoughts of their recurring moment during the party. It seemed to be lingering inside his mind for as long as he can remember. For some reason, the alcohol weighed upon him the entire time, pooling out whatever thoughts filled the brim of his mind. He'd tend to be straightforward and out-of-context when drunk, so it makes sense why he randomly decided to blurt out the whiff of his crippling loneliness.
In all honesty, Sunghoon had always wanted a friend. He felt that Jay was someone special to him. He admired him, in a way which you would describe as envious; in such of momentum, Jay seemed calm, collected but a bit clumsy. He managed to draw eyes upon him everywhere he went. He had his own charms, you could say that. Maybe that's why Sunghoon wanted to befriend him.
Finding warmth in only loneliness brings tranquility and peace in a way.
None of them had properly talked about anything, disappointingly. Sunghood had hoped that Jay would at least mention it, but it seemed Jay would get flustered easily. Very easily. He figured Jay wouldn't mention it.
"Sir, you uh... a lunch meeting with a partner around 3:00." Jay's words broke through Sunghoon's thoughts. "Where?" He asked, standing straight. "It's at a restaurant nearby," Jay muttered, trying to remember the location. "Oh, it's by the infamous park." Sunghoon nodded in response, walking past Jay and making his way to the office. "Alright, be prepared we'll be leaving a little earlier." Jay nodded profusely, trailing behind him.
"Truth to be told," Sunghoon started off, catching Jay's attention who was zoning out. There was a lot on his mind. "I hate that business partner."
"Oh, why?" Jay asked curiously, reading Sunghoon's expression. He seemed to be angry. "He used to assault his employees, but due to his high status, he had gotten away with all the crimes he committed." He said as he turned to face Jay. "My father seems to like him a lot, that's why I have to meet up with him and join hands. I really don't want to." Jay plastered a bittersweet smile, clutching onto the files. "He'll be exposed eventually, I've heard he still hasn't stopped assaulting his employees," he continued.
"I hope all his wrongdoings get exposed. People like him are the reason why many tend to feel insecure and depressed about speaking up." Jay spoke. They arrived at the office and Sunghoon situated himself on the same black office chair, getting right back to work. Jay followed suit, getting back to work.

An hour had passed, and Jay prepared everything for the meeting. He leaned back in his chair, peering over the desktop to catch a glimpse of the weary Sunghoon, who scrolled through the documents, eyes boring into the screen. A small smile curled at the ends of Jay's lips as he watched Sunghoon almost drift off to sleep.
He sighed, pushing his chair back, catching Sunghoon's attention. "Sir, I printed out the files and confirmed everything." He said as he made his way to Sunghoon who watched his figure. Jay stopped in front of his desk, but Sunghoon gestured to him to stand in front of him so he could lean back in his chair and read the documents. Jay obliged and stepped in front of Sunghoon's chair, but in the process he tripped over his feet and somehow ended up on Sunghoon's lap.
The room went dead silent, only the low ruminating hum of the PC resonated in the room. The door suddenly creaked open, and Yeonjun stood there in shock, holding the files in his hands.
"I.. erm, sorry, wrong timing." He said before shutting the door, leaving the two alone. Jay immediately pushed himself away from Sunghoon, blushing, but tripped in the process again and fell on his lap once again.
Sunghoon sat there, astonished, flustered, unable to move. He stared at Jay as he felt his ears turning red. "Uh.." he whispered, gulping. Jay gulped, standing up after that weird, awkward situation– folding his arms in front of his torso as a mechanism. "Sorry about that sir..." he cleared his throat and spoke up, scratching his nape while smiling awkwardly.
Sunghoon's heart was racing as he stared at Jay, "It's no worries. Just be careful next time." He brushed the awkward feeling off, turning his head to face the monitor. "Well we have to go now, I'll just read over the files in the car." He said as he powered off the monitor, placing the documents in the file and standing up.
"R-right.." Jay muttered as he followed behind. You fucker! Why did I trip at the moment?! Jay thought, closing his eyes in embarrassment. The look on Yeonjun's face mirrored inside his head and could already imagine the upcoming rumors.
When they stepped out in the lounge, he saw Jungwon eyeing him suspiciously and he could only look away. God, help me perish right now, please.
Sunghoon noticed Jay's anxiousness and chuckled lightly. When they stopped in front of the car, Sunghoon reached his hand out and tugged Jay's sleeve. Jay turned his head back, hands lingering over the car door. "Are you nervous they'll spread useless rumors?" He mumbled, a small smile dancing on his lips.
Yes, I am very nervous. I don't want anyone talking about whatever the fuck just happened– or us.
"Oh– of course not, sir," Jay said, "why would I worry?" He brushed off the disappointment, conveying the truth behind hopeful lies. "We should get going," he added and slipped past Sunghoon, entering the driver's seat. Sunghoon sighed, situating himself in the orderly seat, as usual.
