"Jay?"
Jay was shocked— no shocked was an understatement– he was astonished at the sight of the boy in front of him.
"Jungwon?!" He yelled, covering his mouth afterward. "What're you doing here?" Both males stared at each other in shock— unable to form words. Both were uncertain, yet they were also excited.
"Haha.. I think I should tell you some things first..." Jungwon started off, fixing the papers in his grasp. "You know how I... completely disappeared..." Jay was too stunned to speak, so he couldn't utter any words, Jungwon took that as a queue to continue, "My mom, she forced me to study in Japan. I didn't have a single say in it— and you know how she also kinda hated you... Well, she cut off all my contact and everything to push me away from you, but she forgot I had Instagram—" He was cut off when Jay finally spoke after processing the entire information inside his brain.
"Wait— so— you're telling me you went to Japan without a single trace behind? You could've texted me on Instagram." He spoke, disappointed as the memories of Jungwon replayed inside his head. "Why didn't you?" He whispered out, voice cracking accidentally.
"I couldn't. I told you, I lost all my stuff— all my socials were locked and everything. But now, I finally had access to everything again since I reached out, and y'know— but that's not the point. The point is that I am truly sorry for just– vanishing like that in the thin air. I know— it must've been so confusing for you— everything, but above everything– Oh my god... I can't believe I met you like this, again..." he blurted out everything at once, all the contained emotions jumbling all over the place. He was happy— sad— elated, excited— scared, and a bit nervous. But he was so glad to see his best friend again. After years of being away from each other, with no access to conversing, they finally met again.
They were each other's escape from the reality. They were the yin to the yang when there was no one around. They were always together– fighting the same battle of anxiety, though one couldn't move on and was still stuck in the past. While the other had realized the worth of life, and gave it a chance by moving away from his fears. Standing and fighting them instead of running away.
Jungwon had succeeded, and he wished for Jay to do the same, so he wondered: If Jay had finally opened his eyes and maybe given the world a chance to open his heart again.
"I..." Jay trailed off, his eyes caught a glimpse of tall Silhouette making his way near both males, so he froze— but behind him, another person walked up to them. It was Sunghoon and Heeseung.
"Jungwon?! Why are you here instead of my office?!" heeseung yelled at the boy who flinched at the loud yell from across the hallway. "Jay? What're you doing here?" Heeseung and Sunghoon both stopped in front of them, and Jay noticed how Sunghoon's gaze was boring into his soul every second, sending chills down his spine.
"Sir, sorry... I kind of met someone I recognized here..." Jungwon mumbled, eyes landing on Jay for a second before turning back to Heeseung's glare.
"You two— you both know each other?!" Heeseung gasped, eyes shifting between the both males. "Yes, he's someone I know from the past," Jungwon added with a slight chuckle.
"Yeah, we both knew each other and were very close..." Jay also spoke up to ease the mood. His eyes traveled to Sunghoon and they both had a brief eye contact, Sunghoon's sharp eyes staring right into Jay's eyes.
Sunghoon cleared his throat, grabbing the attention of the males. "Well, Jay and I need to leave for a meeting. Right, Jay?" He asked his gaze shifted from Jungwon to Jay, and the other slowly nodded, flashing an apologetic smile toward Jungwon, who smiled in return. "Right, it was nice talking to you, Jay... I'll..I'll see you later.." Jungwon waved him off as he followed behind Heeseung, both male silhouettes shrinking as they headed back to the office.
