Daniel's POV
My past.
How dare Sarah use my past
How dare she give yesterday the power to wreck my today. My now with Mikayla. I could see it already. Her smile turning into a frown and her eyes flowing with tears. Her heart would break if she got to know what I did.
The sirens. The screams. The darkness. I shook my head, as though the action could put the images back way back my mind.
As I was thinking into space, I bumped into someone causing his books to fall. As I bent down to take them. I heard him.
"Goddammit, Andrew. Look at where you're going." He spat as I took his books.
"I'm so so-" I began saying but he snatched them from my hand. "Oh save it. I don't want your useless apology. By the way, I have a question. Why Mikayla?" He asked dusting his books, exaggerating.
I knitted my eyebrows in confusion. "What?" He snickered. "You heard me. Why Mikayla? Why have you chosen her as your next prey? You don't deserve her. Now she's serving detention because of you." I glared at him.
"That's your fault, not hers nor mine. If you didn't persuade the matter to the principal's office, she wouldn't be in trouble." I said and he scoffed.
"I was following procedure, rules. Although this may be hard for you to understand. You're a Johnson, you never follow rules." He said frowning at me.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I said and trying my best not to punch him. I was fuming inside but kept a straight face to avoid trouble.
"Excatly that. Just because you're the golden boy doesn't mean you need to constantly break rules, just like you did in 3rd year. You're a monster and you don't deserve Mikayla." He said and I widened my eyes at his mention of the incident.
Then he left to class as I stood there shook.
A monster.
That's why many thought of me. The sirens came again and I shook my head harder this time slightly dizzy.
God help me, please. Don't let the anxiety win over, Lord. My heart began racing. Do not be anxious for anything but let all your prayers be known to God through prayer, petition and thanksgiving. Come on! Daniel. Breath. In and out, fight it. Lord Jesus.
I took sharp inhales as though they were my lasts and slowly my heart rate went back to normal.
"Dude. Are you okay?" I felt a hand touch my back. Wayne's faced dressed in confusion and worry.
"Im- I'm okay. I'm fine." I said still trying to level my breathing.
"Are you sure? You're sweating." He said and I chuckled which sounded more like a choke. Felt as painful as one too. "Yeah. I'm fine. Let's go to class man. We're late, already." I said jogging to class. I didn't want to be further interrogated by my best friend and I know he saw it.
"Very well then. You'll tell me later." He said.

Mikayla's POV
The bell had rung and just before our Chemistry teacher got it in, Tony walked in class. As usual, he was frowning and looked agitated. He scanned for a sit but to both our dismay, the only seat available was the one next to me.
He sighed loudly as though alerting everyone of his 'misfortune'. He sat next to me and paid me no attention. Good. Just what I need, I needed peace and quiet. I wasn't in the mood for Tony's attitude today.
