Endeavor glared at Keigo, crossing his arms.
"What happened here, Hawks?" he demanded, eyes flicking down to Eri who shifted uncomfortably under his gaze and took a step to hide halfway behind Hawks.
"Eh," Keigo answered, rolling his eyes and nonchalantly putting his hands in his pockets and shrugging. "You know, the usual. Villain gets antsy, decides to attack. Civilians hold down the fort 'til help arrives. Really not all that exciting!"
He gave Endeavor another smile, but the man didn't budge an inch.
Endeavor gave an unhappy grunt and looked back down at Eri. Keigo's eyes narrowed his eyes ever so slightly, pretending to adjust his jacket so he could use his wing to block Eri from Endeavor's view.
He'd read the Dabi-Eri investigation file carefully. He knew Endeavor had been trying to push his way into things–it was a high profile case. Aizawa had pushed right back to keep him out of it. And as much as Hawks wanted to fan boy because Endeavor himself was right here in front of him holy shit, Aizawa's stance and Dabi's little investigation spurred Keigo to hold his ground.
Besides, it would be totally lame to gush in front of the guy.
"Is there a reason you're here, number two?" Keigo asked, feigning innocence. "I've already got things wrapped up, so you can relax! I'm a little jealous, honestly." He laughed and lifted a hand to hold the back of his head. "Now I'm gonna have all this paperwork to do!"
Endeavor made an unreadable expression before his gaze shifted to the UA students at Hawks's shoulder.
"What are you children doing here?" Endeavor stated bluntly. "I recognize you from Shoto's class."
At his attention moving onto them, the trio of students straightened up.
"Oh! Yeah, we're friends with Todoroki! We were just shopping, sir," Kirishima answered. "The villain came out of nowhere and tried to grab Eri. We fought him off until Hawks got here!"
Keigo sent a quick glance downwards when he felt small hands grab the backs of his legs. Eri was peering timidly at Endeavor, then snuck a glance at Hawks. She seemed surprised to see his sharp eyes looking back at her.
He gave her a small smile and wink. His feathers puffed ever so slightly with pride when she gave a tiny smile back.
Lifting his attention back to Endeavor, he tilted his head as he listened to Jirou explain that Kaminari had apparently 'short-circuited' and would be fine after getting some rest.
Keigo gave a thoughtful hum, drawing eyes back to him. "That can't be healthy or useful. Have you tried getting support equipment to keep yourself from overloading?" he asked.
But just as Kaminari worked up the energy to reply, movement flashed in the corner of Keigo's eye. He tensed in surprise, throwing out a handful of feathers to block Endeavor from what looked like a flaming weapon heading right for his back.

"Does this thing go any faster?" Dabi snipped, fingers rapping anxiously on the dashboard of Present Mic's car.
When he took a rather sharp turn that jostled the car, Dabi snarled and gripped the dash and door handle to steady himself.
"Careful, bastard! I get car sick!"
Present Mic snorted. "So which is it? You want me to drive fast or careful?"
Dabi huffed and muttered a few expletives under his breath.
