In the courtroom, the atmosphere was tense as the judge called for the presentation of evidence.
Dhruv, with his calm demeanor, approached the bench holding the crucial documents.
"Your Honor, I have here the original property papers of the factory and land in question," Dhruv began, his voice steady and authoritative. "These papers clearly indicate that the property was owned by Sachin Prabhu, Saanchi Prabhu's late father. After his demise, the ownership rightfully passed on to his daughter, Saanchi Prabhu."
He handed the documents to the judge, who inspected them carefully. "These documents have been verified and bear the necessary government stamps and Sachin Prabhu's signature."
Prashant Prabhu, standing at the defendant's table, fidgeted nervously.
Dhruv continued, "On the other hand, the papers presented by Prashant Prabhu are forged. My team has gathered substantial evidence proving the forgery, including expert testimonies from document examiners."
The judge examined the fake documents submitted by Prashant, comparing them with the originals. "It is evident that the documents provided by the defendant are indeed forged," the judge declared. "This is a serious criminal offense."
Saanchi sat in the gallery, her heart pounding.
She watched as the judge turned to Prashant, his expression stern. "Prashant Prabhu, you are hereby sentenced to six months in jail for forgery and fraud. Additionally, you are fined 10 lakhs for your actions."
Prashant's face turned pale as he was led away by the bailiffs.
Saanchi felt a wave of relief wash over her but also a twinge of sadness for her cousin.
She didn't want him to end up like this, despite everything he had done.
As they exited the courthouse, Dhruv noticed the mixed emotions on Saanchi's face.
Wanting to lift her spirits, he said, "Come, Saanchi ji. Let me show you my Mumbai."
At first, Saanchi hesitated, but Dhruv's persuasive skills soon won her over.
They got into his car and began their tour of the city.
As they drove, Dhruv asked, "Aap pehle kabhi Mumbai aayi hai?"
Saanchi nodded. "Haan, kaafi baar. Par kabhi ghumne ka mauka nahi mila. I was always busy with work."
He smiled. "Maine toh Mumbai itni baar dekh liya hai ki ab toh yaha ki sadakein bhi muhje jaanti hai."
Saanchi laughed at his comment. "Tum kya pura din bas tafri karte thay?"
Dhruv nodded enthusiastically like an excited child. "Aapko kaise pata, Saanchi ji?"
She smiled, "Tum lagte hi shararati ho. Abhi umar mein chote hona, issliye."
Dhruv's mood darkened slightly at her words.
He knew he was seven years younger than her, but he didn't want her to see him as a young boy.
He wanted her to see him as the man he was, capable and mature.
They stopped at Juhu Beach and strolled along the shoreline, enjoying the cool sea breeze.
For Saanchi, it was a rare moment of relaxation, and she felt grateful to Dhruv for giving her this experience.
She looked at him and smiled, then gently held his hand.
Dhruv's breath hitched and his heart pounded as he felt her touch.
