Gaurav stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his shirt collar with a broad smile on his face.
(Gaurav be like: Sajna hai muhje sajni ke liye🫠)
Today was the day he had been eagerly waiting for—lunch at Nilanjana's house.
The mere thought of seeing her made his heart race.
He was whistling a tune when the door creaked open, and Bhairav walked in.
Bhairav leaned against the doorframe, a small smile playing on his lips as he watched his younger brother. "Toh finally ladki maan gayi?"
Gaurav flinched at the sudden voice and turned around, "Dada, you scared me!"
Bhairav rolled his eyes. "What's the deal? Why are you so excited?"
Gaurav grinned sheepishly. "Nahi dada, filhaal toh uske parents ko manane ka irada hai."
Bhairav raised an eyebrow. "Matlab?"
Gaurav adjusted his cufflinks, trying to hide his excitement. "Matlab yeh, I've been invited to her house for lunch. By her parents."
Bhairav chuckled, shaking his head. "Kya baat hai, hone wale sasural jaa raha hai. Vaha jaake apni bandar wali harkatein mat karna."
Gaurav whined in protest. "Dada, please! I'm a grown-up man."
Bhairav smirked. "Shantanu ko pata chalne de. Tab dekhta hoon tu uske taunts kaise handle karta hai."
Gaurav's face paled at the mention of Shantanu. "Dada, please! I request you—Shantanu ko kuch mat batana."
Bhairav laughed softly, shaking his head. "Fine, I won't tell him."
Gaurav sighed in relief.
The last thing he needed was Shantanu's endless teasing.
He glanced at the clock, realizing it was almost time to leave.
With one final look in the mirror, he grabbed his keys and headed out, his heart pounding with anticipation.
In the Rajvansh kitchen, Nilanjana was busy helping her mother prepare the meal.
Ever since she mentioned that Gaurav had agreed to come for lunch, her mother had been buzzing with excitement.
She was making her special dish, determined to impress.
Nilanjana couldn't help but notice her mother's enthusiasm.
At one point, she thought it felt like her mother was welcoming a son-in-law.
The thought made her cheeks flush slightly, but she quickly brushed it aside.
"Neelu, zara yeh spices de dena," her mother called out, pulling her out of her thoughts.
As Nilanjana taking out the new crockery, her thoughts wandered back to her conversation with Gaurav the previous day.
The way he had looked at her, the way he had spoken to her, made her heart flutter in a way she hadn't felt before.
She shook her head, trying to focus.
Today was just about lunch and thanking him—nothing more.
But deep down, she couldn't deny the excitement bubbling within her.
