Yuvaan sat across from the last girl his mother had insisted he meet.
His thoughts were far away, drifting back to Mokshita.
Her innocent smile, the way her eyes had lit up when they first met—it was all he could think about.
No matter how hard he tried, her face wouldn't leave his mind.
He was abruptly pulled back to the present by the screeching voice of the girl sitting in front of him.
"So, what's your net worth, Yuvaan?" she asked, her tone overly confident.
Yuvaan snapped out of his thoughts, his eyes narrowing at her. "First of all, it's Mr. Singh for you," he said sharply, "and secondly, who the hell are you to ask me about my net worth?"
The girl chuckled. "Because I'm your to-be wife," she said smugly.
Yuvaan let out a sarcastic laugh. "Delusional, are we?"
She leaned forward, her voice dropping to a sneer. "That means you haven't forgotten about that fatso, Mokshita, have you?"
The mention of Mokshita's name, especially laced with such insult, made Yuvaan's fists clench.
His jaw tightened as he glared at the girl. "Who the hell are you?" he growled.
With a mocking smile, she replied, "Wow, that girl met you only once, and you still remember her. But me? I followed you like a crazy person, and you don't even recall my face." She paused, smirking. "I'm Raina Malhotra."
The name clicked in Yuvaan's mind.
He vaguely remembered her—someone he had dismissed easily in the past.
He let out a sigh of frustration. "You're not worth my time," he said coldly, watching her face pale at his blunt words.
Raina's arrogance cracked, but she quickly regained her composure. "I'm more beautiful than her, richer than her. I can give you everything you want. What does she have that I don't?" she demanded, her voice rising.
Yuvaan chuckled darkly, shaking his head. "You really don't get it, do you?" he said, his voice low but cutting. "You can never be her. She's decent, she's kind-hearted, and she's real. She cracked through the thick walls of my heart—something you or anyone else could never do. So yes, she's different, and she's meant to be mine."
Raina was furious now, her face twisted with rage. "Why are you so hell-bent on her?" she shouted.
Yuvaan stood up, buttoning his blazer with a calmness that only made his words more dangerous. "Because she's worth it." He stared down at her, his eyes cold. "And next time, Miss Malhotra, if you dare to say another word against Mokshita, I swear, you'll regret every insult you've hurled at her." His voice was dangerously quiet, but the warning was clear.
Raina flinched, taken aback by his tone.
She knew she had pushed too far, and she couldn't stand up to Yuvaan's intensity.
Without another word, Yuvaan turned on his heel and walked out.
Outside, he slammed his hand against his car, frustration boiling over. "Damn it!" he cursed under his breath.
His PA, who had been waiting by the car, rushed over. "Are you okay, sir?"
Yuvaan looked at him, his face unreadable. "Let's go to Udaipur Medical College," he said, his voice tight.
