Gaurav was sitting in the staff room, typing away on his laptop as he prepared a presentation for his upcoming lectures.
It was a quiet day with no classes scheduled for him, so he was taking advantage of the time to get ahead on his work.
But his concentration was suddenly broken when he glanced out the window and noticed Nilanjana walking towards the back of the college.
His brows furrowed in confusion.
There was no reason for her to be heading that way, and something about the situation didn't sit right with him.
Closing his laptop, Gaurav quickly stood up, his instincts telling him to follow her.
As he left the staff room and stepped outside, he noticed Ramanuj walking behind Nilanjana.
The way Ramanuj was scanning the surroundings, trying to be discreet, made it clear that he had no good intentions.
Gaurav's heart pounded with anger and concern as he swiftly sent a message to Bhairav, informing him of the situation.
With a curt response from Bhairav confirming his support, Gaurav followed them, keeping a safe distance.
As he turned a corner, the sight before him made his blood boil.
Ramanuj had cornered Nilanjana and was holding her wrist tightly as she struggled to break free.
Gaurav's fists clenched in anger.
This was beyond unacceptable.
Nilanjana had been walking through the corridor, confused by the peon's message that Gaurav was looking for her at the back of the college.
Despite her confusion, she decided to go, unaware that it was a trap set by Ramanuj.
When she arrived and saw Ramanuj instead of Gaurav, fear gripped her heart.
She tried to back away, but he grabbed her wrist, holding her in place.
Just then, Nilanjana spotted Gaurav standing at a distance, and a wave of relief washed over her. "Gaurav Sir! Please help!" she cried out, her voice trembling with fear.
Ramanuj, momentarily startled, looked at Gaurav.
But seeing him just standing there, a smirk formed on his lips as he tightened his grip on Nilanjana.
Gaurav, however, wasn't as passive as he seemed.
He began walking towards them, his eyes locked on Nilanjana. "Ms. Rajvansh, how long will you keep relying on others for help? Don't forget, you are a strong woman. If you truly want to, you can easily break the face of someone as pathetic as Ramanuj. Just try to find your strength."
Nilanjana's eyes welled up with tears, not of fear, but of realization.
Gaurav was right.
She had been depending on others for too long.
She needed to stand up for herself.
Enough of being the victim—now was the time to be courageous.
With a sudden surge of determination, Nilanjana stomped hard on Ramanuj's foot.
He winced in pain, loosening his grip on her wrist.
Taking the opportunity, she slapped him across the face with all her might.
The force of the slap was so strong that it left Ramanuj stunned, a thin line of blood appearing at the corner of his lips.
