Vyom was about to leave the Chauhan mansion, the rain outside still drumming against the windows.
He turned to go, but just as he reached the door, Riya called out, "Beta, ruko."
He paused, turning around politely.
Riya walked toward him, her brow slightly furrowed in curiosity. "Beta, aap hai kaun?" she asked with a gentle smile.
Vyom hesitated for a moment, glancing at Kamakshi briefly before replying, "Ji, mera naam Vyom hai."
Rituraj, who had been observing from his armchair, narrowed his eyes. "Full name batao, young man," he said, his voice carrying the authority of a protective father.
Vyom gave a small smile, unbothered by the scrutiny. "Vyom Pratap Singh," he said.
The name immediately struck a chord with Rituraj. "Vyom Pratap Singh?" he echoed, his eyes widening in recognition. "You're the son of Harshvardhan Pratap Singh?"
Vyom nodded slightly, confirming Rituraj's suspicions.
Riya, standing nearby, looked concerned as she noticed Vyom was drenched from the rain. "Beta, thodi der ruk jao. Baarish bahut ho rahi hai, aur tumhare kapde bhi gile hain. Bimaar pad jaoge," she said warmly.
Vyom didn't want to impose, but the caring tone in Riya's voice made it hard to refuse.
He nodded, appreciating her hospitality. "Ji, aunty. Thank you," he said softly.
As time passed, Vyom found himself sitting in the cozy living room of the Chauhan mansion, holding a warm cup of tea.
Kamakshi sat across from him on the sofa, her hair still damp from the rain.
Riya, ever the doting mother, was drying Kamakshi's hair with a towel, but she couldn't help but notice the way Vyom was looking at her daughter.
And equally, how Kamakshi was stealing shy glances at him.
Meanwhile, two other men in the room were not as subtle in their reactions.
Dhanush and Rituraj both fumed quietly, the tension between them evident.
They too noticed how Vyom's gaze lingered on Kamakshi, and neither of them liked it.
Out of nowhere, Riya, in her usual candid way, asked, "Beta, shaadi ki umar hai tumhari. Toh, any plans of getting married?"
Vyom's eyes flickered toward Kamakshi before returning to Riya.
He gave a polite smile. "Nahi, aunty. Filhaal toh koi plan nahi hai."
Before Riya could respond, Rituraj scoffed, his protective instincts on high alert. "Nahi hai toh plan banao. Buddhe ho jaaoge nahi toh," he said, half-joking but with a serious undertone.
Riya rolled her eyes at her husband's hypocrisy.
To him, Kamakshi was still a little girl, but Vyom was suddenly old enough to worry about marriage.
She couldn't help but think, Wow, just slow claps for his hypocrisy.
The rain outside finally let up, and Vyom stood to take his leave. "Thank you for the hospitality, aunty," he said, his voice filled with genuine appreciation.
He then looked at Kamakshi and added softly, "Take care of yourself."
Kamakshi smiled at him, her cheeks warming to a soft crimson hue that caught Vyom's attention.
