The sterile scent of the medical room lingered as the doctor finished bandaging Yuvika's arm.
Despite the wound not being deep, she had lost enough blood to leave her unconscious, her pale face resting peacefully on the white hospital bed.
The steady beep of the heart monitor was the only sound filling the room.
Harshvardhan stood at the edge of the room, watching as the nurse approached Samaksh with a tray of bandages and antiseptic, ready to tend to his bruised knuckles.
But Samaksh, his face tense and eyes still stormy with lingering rage, waved her away.
"I'm fine," he muttered, barely looking at the nurse.
His gaze was locked on Yuvika, his expression softening with every glance at her unconscious form.
The room felt small, thick with the tension of worry and unspoken emotions.
On the other side of the room, Harshvardhan stepped away from the door after a call with Amrita, who had been frantic on the phone until he reassured her that Yuvika was stable.
He slipped his phone into his pocket, eyes once again scanning the scene before him—the concern in his children's faces, the storm of emotions whirling in Samaksh's.
Vyom sat beside Yuvika, tears brimming in his eyes, his usual carefree demeanor completely gone.
He sniffled, trying to hold back his tears, but the worry had overwhelmed him.
"Oyee, ro kyun raha hai?" Yuvaan, sitting next to him, asked softly, nudging Vyom with his shoulder.
His voice was gentle, though his own eyes held a mix of anger and relief.
Vyom wiped his nose with his sleeve and replied, "Bhai, di ko aise dekh ke darr gaya tha."
Yuvaan gave him a side hug, his arm pulling Vyom closer. "Don't worry. She's Yuvika. We all know how strong she is. She'll be okay."
Vyom nodded, his tears subsiding as Yuvaan wiped his brother's face with the back of his hand, offering a reassuring smile.
They sat together quietly, their bond palpable, as they waited for their sister to wake up.
Harshvardhan observed the scene with a heavy heart but a smile.
His youngest son, who never usually let emotions get the better of him, had been deeply shaken.
Out of all his children, he knew Vyom had always had a special bond with Yuvika.
Even though Yuvaan and Yuvika were twins, their personalities were poles apart.
Vyom, on the other hand, was Yuvika's partner in crime, her best friend, despite being younger.
It often made people think they were the twins.
Yash and Yuvaan, being the eldest, were more protective of their siblings, always watching over them.
But in this moment, as Harshvardhan watched them sit together, he felt an immense pride at the love his children had for one another.
His gaze then shifted to Samaksh, who hadn't moved from his spot, still staring at Yuvika.
The bruises on his knuckles told Harshvardhan more than he needed to know about what had happened at the warehouse.
Samaksh had fought like a man possessed, beating Jagtap senseless in a fit of rage that could only come from someone with deep feelings for Yuvika.
Harshvardhan sighed, conflicted.
