As we flew back to Cid's parlor, Tech carefully treated my wounds, Omega stood near me, and Wrecker, Echo, and Hunter waited in the other room.

The wound on my arm was nasty, but my ankle wound? Not really, I treated that one myself, but Tech insisted that he treated my arm wound. His way of saying he cared I think. My arm wound took a while to treat, and it would take longer to heal.

"I hate wounds that can't be healed in less than an hour," I mumbled as Tech finished bandaging my arm, "it's fucking annoying..."

"WATCH THE LANGUAGE Y/N!" Hunter roared from the other room.

I rolled my eyes, Omega knew better... probably.

"Fine then, Omega?" I got her attention, "don't say fuck."

"Really?" Tech rolled his eyes, and scanned my bandaged wound with his data pad.

I laughed, "what are you doing?"

"Making sure that these aren't just going to fall off," Tech said elaborated, "with all the things you get up to."

I snickered, I have so many mementoes of doing the most random shit.

"Y/n, come here," Echo called from the other room.

My smile faded, I knew what was coming. I slowly walked into the other room with my arms crossed.

"Y/n," Hunter addressed me, "you need to put more restrictions on yourself. You're going to get something's attention!"

I rolled my eyes, "you can't just control me like that. I have my own freedom."

"What about this squad?" Hunter asked me, not this again.

"Hunter," I continued, "I know you are fully aware that everything I do, is for this squad. I rescued you with Omega's help, and I needed magic to be able to protect her. Who knows what could have happened if I hadn't!"

"I know," Hunter looked at me, "but you should remember your own words."

"Hunter, I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast this morning," I gave him a look.

"Y/n?" Echo decided to break the short moment of silence, "what happened back there that got you injured?"

I turned to Echo.

"Not just anything can wound you like that," Echo continued, "what was it?"

I looked down, "it was... another lycanthrope..."

"Lycanthrope?" Omega looked at me, "what's a Lycanthrope?"

"A shapeshifter, someone who can transform into an animal," I explained, "there are many, many different kinds of lycanthropes. It would take days to name them all, but the most defining thing about a lycanthrope is their temperament, magical abilities/appearances and stance. Someone like me..."

"Why do those things matter so much?" Omega asked again disregarding my last sentence.

I was glad that only Omega needed an explanation.

"Well, temperament can tell you how intelligent a lycanthrope is. A more aggressive, cocky lycanthrope that does not talk is less intelligent. A strategic, talking, or mathematical lycanthrope is more intelligent. The more intelligent the harder the fight." I explained, "magical abilities are exactly what they sound like. Their ability to use magic, and do things that aren't just punching and kicking. Magical appearance is when you're basically a hybrid, like myself. I have a lot of things in me, I've got wolf, shark and some kind of flying thing in me. And what was the last one? Stance? Right, that just means if a lycanthrope is bipedal or quadrupedal. That's how you classify lycanthropes."

"What was so special about this lycanthrope that... you know... did that?" Omega pointed to my arm.

"This Lycanthrope was... different..." I scratched the back of my head with my uninjured arm, "it wasn't that intelligent... but, it was more dangerous than I thought it would be. For starters, it was some kind of Bald Eagle character, so it was superior in the air. Secondly, the thing had two pairs of wings, and it did not reveal the second pair until it needed to, a sign of mild intelligence. Thirdly, the thing had a breath weapon made of pure energy, which it also didn't reveal until it needed to. More intelligence. Lastly... it... well... it was bipedal, but, that's not the only thing. The thing was wielding a weapon at the same time."

"I thought that was impossible...?" Echo gave me a concerned look.

"Not for that thing, that's how I got that nasty scratch," I shook my head, "and, on top of that. The creature wasn't intelligent at all! It was just, powerful."

"Interesting," Tech rubbed his chin in thought, "so Vial has upgraded his game then?"

"Yeah," I nodded, still staring at the floor, "the creature clearly was nearby, maybe he upgraded the tracking technology...?"

Everyone was silent.

"Who's Vial?" Omega asked, giving me a nervous glance.

"Vial? He is the one who created all the lycanthropes. Really, he's a genius scientist that somehow found a way to manipulate DNA in a way that allows someone to turn into a creature." I explained, "I am who I am because of him..."

"Shouldn't you be more... grateful then? Wouldn't he be your friend?" Omega asked innocently.

I decided not to yell, "he used to be... once, but then he tried to hit on me, and then I friend-zoned him, and then... he decided to condemn me to the separatists for the rest of my life because I did not like him."

"Oh..." Omega looked downcast, "I'm sorry."

"It's not fault of yours, you did not know," I shook my head sadly.

I heard a deep exhale coming from everyone in the room, "nice control there y/n."

I rolled my eyes, "try me bitches."

"All the more reason to..." Hunter began, I braced for his yelling, "NOT USE YOUR MAGIC!!"

I flinched, and I one so was shaking. When I realized it, I immediately left the room, jumped up to my corner, and curled up there.

As I passed to the I the room, I caught a very concerned look from Tech.

"You can't do that Hunter," I heard Tech say, "you know what happened to her."

I heard Hunter scratching the back of his head, "I know..."

"What? Why?" Omega asked, here we go again.
