7:great timing

"God this is going to be hell!" Mom said. She agreed to go to a spa with grandma for the weekend. "Yeah well me and Rory are going to be in heaven!" I said smiling. "We are gonna order Sandeeps watch movies and fold clothes and clean!" Rory said as me and her both smiled excited for this weekend. "God you guys are not my daughters!" "Where are we going?" I asked my mom. "To Luke's why? Ohh, you're still avoiding him?" My mom asked, I told her what happened and that I liked Jess but it would be to awkward and I wouldn't know what to say."Oh um I have to go Tristan's picking me up!" I said speed walking in the opposite direction. Ever since last weekend when me and Jess almost kissed I haven't talked to him for two days and he hasn't tried to talk to me either. I wanted to kiss him though and I wanted him to kiss me but he liked Rory and if they wanted to date I wasn't going to be the one to prevent that.

Rory's pov
"She's still avoiding him huh?" My mom asked. "Yeah I guess." I said I was mad at Jackie, Jess bid on MY basket and she had to go and ruin it and be the center of attention and go and almost kiss Jess, first it was Tristan now it's Jess. "Hey Rory." Jess said. "Hey Jess." I responded. "Jackie's not here again?" "Nope still going with Tristan." I answered angry cause that's all he cares about sometimes Jackie this, and Jackie that, so I bring up how close Jackie and Tristan are so that way Jess will think Jackie doesn't like him and he forgets about her. "Do you know why?" "Um no I don't" "oh okay, I gotta go bye Rory." "Bye Jess."

Jess's pov
Last weekend me and Jackie almost kissed until some dumb swan came and ruined the moment, our lips were so close, later that night I thought about what her lips felt like on mine, probably soft and warm and they probably tasted like vanilla. But ever since then she's been avoiding me and spending more time with Tristan, god I hate that stupid preppy rich dude. I have to find Jackie and talk to her. // Time skip
After school I go to Luke's. "Hey Luke have you seen Jackie?" "Um she's probably at home with Rory, Lorelai is out of town so they have the house to themselves." Luke says. "Okay ima be upstairs."

Jackie's pov
Tonight was supposed to be just me and Rory but of course Paris had to ruin it god I did not like this girl, she stopped being mad at me once she learned that I was not going on a date with Tristan we were just friends. "So given that the two reactions occurring to the two half cells what do you do next?" Rory asked Paris as I just sat there listening to music. "Well if we add them together doubling the coefficients to the half equation but not the voltage we get the equation for the complete reaction." Paris said pacing back and forth. "You're in much better shape then you want to think you are." Just then a knock came from the door. "I'll get it, it's probably sandeeps!" As I opened the door I saw... oh no Jess. What was he doing here ? I didn't want to talk to him let alone see him! "You're not sandeeps." I said disappointed as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"You're right, delivery from Luke's." Jess responded. "But I ordered sandeeps." "Plan on burning down the house afterwards, where do I put this?" (Walking in the house) "sure come in." I said sarcastically. "This is too much food, it could feed 12!" I stated. "Please I've seen you eat." "Fine 6, why did Luke send this anyways?" "Cause your moms out of town." "Only for tonight." "Well he didn't know." "Well now you can tell him." "Okay"  "why did you drop this off anyways, why not Ceasar?" I asked curious. "Just wanted to get out of the construction zone, there's nothing but screaming and yelling, place gives me a headache." "Oh." "Why did you think I wanted to come over here and see you?"jess asked stepping toward me while smirking, I stepped back and replied "no" he was still walking towards me. "Just needed some quiet." "Okay" "that is all" "fine." "Clear my head." "I understands Jess." I said as my back hit the counter. Jess put his hands on the counters  opposite side of my hips and leaned in. "That's all." He said glancing at my lips very fast that if I would have blinked I would have missed it. He kept leaning in and I found myself leaning in too. "Jess" I whispered. "Yeah?" He said in a quiet, raspy tone. "Hey Jackie who was it? Oh" Rory asked. "Umm Jess just came to drop off some food." I said fast as I walked next to Rory. "Umm I have to use the restroom." Rory said. "I can't find my flash cards rory, oh, Jackie if you find them can you call me?" Paris asked walking into the kitchen. "No" "what." "No, stay eat, Jess brought a lot of food and it's getting late so you should stay." I said glancing at Jess who was staring at me intensely, god was I thankful for Paris right now. "Is that Mac n cheese?" "Sure is." "I love Mac n cheese, I can't have Mac n cheese." "Then stay and feast." "Do you have a 24 hour pharmacist incase worst case scenario?" "Believe it or not we do." "Okay I'm gonna go call my nanny and tell her I'll be home late." Paris walked off and started speaking Portuguese. "You think we need a chaperone?" Jess asked once Paris left. "No why?" "Well you just invited one." "I was being polite." "Is it that or are you still trying to avoid me?" "Why would I avoid you?" "Cause what almost happened last week" "what almost happened?" I asked stupidly. "You know, and I think I make you nervous." "Why would YOU make me nervous." "Cause we almost kissed." "No YOU almost kissed ME, while you were on a DATE with RORY." I pointed out. "First it was not a date, second you were leaning in too." "Either way Jess we're friends." I said automatically seeing his expression changed, guilt washed over me, I knew damn well he was not just a friend to me, but he liked Rory. " right 'friends' " Thank God Paris and Rory walked in. "Okay let's eat." Rory said. "Your still here?" Rory told Jess. "You didn't give me a tip." "You want money?" "No, a fry would be good though." "Okay have as many as you want." Jess started taking off his jacket. "What are you doing?" I asked him. "Well Rory just invited me." "No she said-" Jess cut me off "no she said have as many as I want, that sounded invitation like to me." "Fine then." I responded. // time skip.
Dinner was going great surprisingly Jess and Paris got along good. "Waste of paper." Paris said . "I can't believe you just said that." "Well it's true the beats writing was completely self-indulgent. I have one word for Jack Kerouac, Edit." Paris argued. Jess looked at me with a 'can you believe this, look and I just shrugged. "It was not self-indulgent, the beats believed in shocking people, stirring things up." Jess stated. "They believed in dugs, booze, and petty crime." "Well then you can say they introduced you to a world that you wouldn't have otherwise known." I said looking at Jess who smirked at me, yet again making my heart skip a beat. "Isn't that what great writings all about?" I asked as Paris was gonna argue at my last comment. "That was not great writing. That was the national inquirer of the 50's." Paris said. "Your cracked." Jess said pointing to her. "Typical guy response. Worship Kerouac and Bukowski. God forbid you pick up anything by Jane Austen." "Hey I've read Jane Austen." Jess spoke up. "You have?" "Yeah and I think she would have liked Bukowski." "What are you doing?" "Salt and pepper dip, only way to eat a fry." Jess said as if it was the most obvious thing ever. "Is it?" Paris asked Rory. "It's fast food gospel." Rory responded as me and her dipped our fries into the dip. Just then the phone rang and Rory answered. "Hey." She spoke going to the other room. "So Jackie how's thing with you and Tristan? How was the date?" Paris asked me as Jess's head whipped towards me so fast I thought he was going to get whiplash, why does he care? "Good and it was not a date Paris we aren't dating." I said as 2 pairs of eyes were on me. "So why does he call you angel, and hug you, why do you kiss him on the cheek?" Paris asked. "First of all he also calls me Ms.PeePee because of a certain incident that I told him about cause we are best friends, and I kiss him on the cheek cause we got used to doing that with out it being weird, and he hugs me cause that what friends do." I defended myself as I looked at Jess he had an expression that I could t read this time. "Hey Jess it's getting late don't you think? Luke's probably worried you should get going." Rory told Jess rushing him. "I'm eating." "I know but it's late." "Who was that on the phone?" Jess asked. "No one." "No one wouldn't happen to be on his way here right?" "What's going on?" Paris asked. "Deans on his way and Rory doesn't want him to see me." "Why?" Paris asked yet again. "Yeah Rory, why?" Jess asked. "Jess please." Rory pleaded. "Fine I'm going." "Ow." Jess said limping. I got up fast worried. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "I think I twisted my ankle, I better lie down." "Jess" I said sternly. "God your no fun when your tense." Jess said. "Rory open the door please?" I asked her. "Okay." As she did she said "hey Dean." I looked at Jess. Rory signaled her hands behind her back to the back door. "Come on." I said grabbing Jess's hand. Once we went outside to the back porch I looked at Jess seeing him already looking at me. "Thank you, for the food." "So you and Tristan huh?" He asked. "What about me and him?" I asked. "You guys are just 'friends'?" He asked. "Yeah why?" "I mean nicknames, kissing and hugging god really good friend you are." He said. "He calls me Ms. PeePee too and I kiss him on the cheek." "Okay sure." "We aren't dating Jess." I said. "Okay." "Look." I kissed his cheek and hugged him, to which he slowly hugged me back. His hand were warm and soft and I felt safe in his arms. But I pulled away. "See that kiss and hug meant nothing right?" "Right." 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚕𝚒𝚊𝚛𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚋𝚘𝚝𝚑 𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚎. "Good night Jess." "Good night princess." He said walking off.
