As soon as I woke up I walked to Luke's. I rushed to the counter and asked Luke "have you seen Jess?" "Yeah he's upstairs." "Thank god." I muttered. I walked upstairs and knocked. "What? Oh." His eyes immediately softened. "Hi Jess." "Hi Jackie." "Can we talk?" He nodded. I sat down on the table as he sat across from me. "What did you want to talk to me about?" I looked at him like he asked the world stupidest question which he did. "Right." "Jess I think it would be best if we took a break." I slowly said. "What?" "Yeah. It seems like all you want is sex." "I don't." "It seems like it. Anytime we're by each other your balls are already in me." "I don't want you for your body I want you. I only ever wanted you." "No jess. I think the break would be best. And I told you that if would walk off we were done and you agreed." "If that's what you want." "It is." As Jackie got up Jess stopped her. "Will we ever have a second chance?" "Change and we'll see." And with that she walked out the door being met with like who stared at her watery eyes. "I gotta go." She said before rushing off. The door to the apartment opened as Jess Ridley said "what are you looking at?" Luke just stood there dumbfounded. What happened?
Time skip (two weeks)
Me and Jess haven't talked since that day. We share glances and light smiles but that's it. He's been sending me letters though. When I thank him he denies it but I know that he did it. I was walking around doose's when I was met with Luke. "Hey Jackie." "Hi Luke." "So uh if you want to of course. Um Jess's 18th birthday is coming up pretty soon and I was gonna take him out to eat and uh I was wondering if you wanted to come only if you want to of course." How did I not know? Why didn't he tell me? "Yeah no of course. I'll be there." "Great. It's at Hartford at 9:00 pm." "Okay thanks Luke. What day?" "Right. Tuesday." "Thanks Jackie." And with that he walked out. His birthdays in two days?
Luke's pov
I'm very grateful Jackie said yeah or else Jess would've kept being all depressed. I'm running in an hour of sleep due to Jess getting up in the middle of the night and turning on his music and reading. Or he walked around the apartment groaning. He's been moodier than ever and has been getting into alot of arguments with a bunch of people. So hopefully by inviting Jackie he'll be a lot better.
Jackie's pov
I've been out of it. I haven't been able to sleep good, I have no motivation for anything, I can't cry anymore, and my heart breaks a little when I see Jess. Hopefully by his birthday we'll be good. He's changed. I hope. I haven't heard any thing bad anymore. I'm currently getting ready for the dinner. I have on a pink dressy top with light jeans and my converse. I told mom my plans so she already knows. I go downstairs and get my keys and walk out the door. Okay, go see Jess, talk to him, make things better. Simple list.
Time skip (Tuesday) Jess's pov
I haven't been able to sleep or really do anything without Jackie. I've never felt this way about a girl before. I didn't even want to go out to dinner with Luke for my birthday. But he looked happy and Jackie wanted me to change to this is me trying to change. Here we are sitting at the table talking about work, school( barley), and just random stuff. I'm kind of in a mood because I can't spend it with Jackie. Luke kept looking at his watch and the door like if he was waiting for someone. "Waiting for someone?" I asked. "No uh it just. Never mind." I just rolled my eyes and began to look at my food infront of me. A couple minutes later Luke looks up behind me and his eyes widen in relief. "Look." He said signaling me to turn around. "If you ordered me a class I sw-" "just shut up and look." I sighed heavily and turned around. I saw Jackie smiling at me looking as beautiful as ever. I got up as she ran to me. I opened my arms as I engulfed her in a hug. Immediately taking in her strawberry scent. She pulled away and looked up grabbing my face and kissing me. I grabbed her what's and kissed back. Then everyone had to go and he annoying and clap like some damn movie. She pulled away and handed me a bag and said "happy birthday." She went to go sit down as I sat too. Her and Luke looked at me. "What?" I asked still somewhat shocked and mostly happy. "Open it!" She urged me. "Okay okay." I smiled and opened it. I opened it and my eyes widened. "Jackie. You didn't have too." I said. "You deserve it." It was a Metallica vinyl and a bunch of books. "Thank you." This was my first year celebrating my birthday and with gifts. With Jackie and Luke. The two most important people in my life. "Happy birthday to you!" I heard behind me. I turned around and saw those overly happy people with there stupid small cake. "Are you serious?" I asked looking at Luke. He began to chuckle as Jackie joined in too. Seeing and hearing her laugh changed my mood. They placed the cake infront of me as all eyes were on me. As much as I hate to admit it. I enjoyed it.
