Part 4 !

--

Y/N woke abruptly in the middle of the night to a tickle in her throat that turned into a series of coughs. Each one felt like it was rattling her chest, and she tried to stifle them, not wanting to disturb Matt and Emily who were sleeping peacefully in the next room.

But the coughs persisted, growing stronger and more insistent until Y/N felt queasy. Panicking, she scrambled out of bed, careful not to make a sound, and dashed towards the bathroom. The hallway felt endless, but she finally reached the bathroom just in time to vomit into the toilet.

Her face flushed with embarrassment and a bit of relief, Y/N tried to clean up quickly and quietly. She rinsed her mouth and splashed some water on her face, hoping to calm herself down. However, she still felt weak and shaky from the ordeal.

As Y/N hesitated by the bathroom sink, trying to gather her thoughts, she heard footsteps approaching from the hallway. Matt appeared in the doorway, his expression a mix of concern and confusion as he saw Y/N standing there.

"Y/N? Are you okay?" Matt asked softly, his voice filled with worry.

Y/N nodded, unable to meet his gaze, feeling embarrassed by the situation. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice hoarse from coughing. "I didn't mean to wake you."

Emily appeared behind Matt, her eyes widening with concern as she took in Y/N's pale complexion. "Sweetheart, what happened?" she asked gently, stepping closer to Y/N.

Y/N swallowed hard, tears welling up in her eyes. "I woke up coughing," she explained quietly. "I didn't want to disturb you, so I came here."

Matt and Emily exchanged a knowing look, their worry deepening as they realized Y/N had been trying to handle this on her own. They knelt down beside her, wrapping her in a comforting hug.

"You don't have to go through this alone, Y/N," Emily said softly, brushing a stray hair from Y/N's face. "We're here to take care of you."

Matt nodded in agreement, his voice gentle. "We'll figure out what's causing this cough, okay? But you should never hesitate to wake us up if you're not feeling well."

Y/N nodded tearfully, feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for her parents' understanding and support. She leaned into their embrace, feeling safe and loved despite the late-night scare.

Together, they returned to Y/N's room, where Matt and Emily helped her settle back into bed. They stayed by her side until she fell asleep, their hearts heavy with concern but also filled with reassurance that they would face whatever challenges came their way as a family.

In the days that followed, Matt and Emily took Y/N to see a doctor to determine the cause of her cough and vomiting episodes. With their unwavering support and medical attention, Y/N began to recover and regain her strength. Through it all, their bond as a family grew stronger, anchored by love, understanding, and the promise to always be there for each other no matter what.

As days passed, Y/N's condition did not improve. She grew even paler, and her once lively demeanor faded into fatigue and lethargy. Matt and Emily watched with increasing concern as Y/N's appetite waned, her once chubby cheeks now hollow and her energy levels plummeting.
