As the sun rose on another peaceful morning in the Sturniolo household, Matthew was preparing breakfast in the kitchen while Christopher and Nicolas sat at the table, sipping on their morning coffee. Y/N's cheerful babbling could be heard from her room, indicating that she was awake and starting her day.

Suddenly, there was a sharp knock on the front door, breaking the tranquility of the morning. Matthew frowned slightly, not expecting any visitors at this hour. He wiped his hands on a dish towel and walked over to answer the door.

Standing on the doorstep was the postman, holding out an envelope addressed to Matthew. "Morning," the postman greeted with a friendly smile, handing over the envelope.

"Good morning," Matthew replied politely, taking the envelope and closing the door behind him. He glanced at the return address and saw that it was from a law firm—a name that sent a chill down his spine.

Curiosity mingled with apprehension, Matthew opened the envelope and unfolded the letter inside. As he read the words on the page, his heart sank.

The letter was from a lawyer representing Y/N's biological mother, pleading for visitation rights and expressing a desire to be involved in Y/N's life. Matthew's ex-girlfriend claimed that she had made changes in her life and was now in a stable situation, asserting her rights as Y/N's mother.

Matthew's hands trembled slightly as he read the letter, the words swirling around in his mind. He had feared something like this might happen, but he never expected it to come so suddenly and disrupt their peaceful life.

Christopher and Nicolas exchanged concerned glances as Matthew stood there in silence, processing the contents of the letter. They knew how much Y/N meant to him and how fiercely protective he was of their family unit.

"What does it say, Matt?" Christopher asked gently, his voice filled with concern.

Matthew took a deep breath, folding the letter carefully and placing it on the kitchen counter. "It's from her lawyer," he explained, his voice tight with emotion. "She's petitioning for visitation rights."

Nicolas frowned, his expression hardening with determination. "But she hasn't been around for so long," he pointed out. "Why now?"

Matthew shook his head wearily, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know," he admitted, feeling a mix of anger and helplessness. "She disappeared when Y/N was just a baby, and now she wants to waltz back into her life?"

Christopher placed a reassuring hand on Matthew's shoulder. "We'll figure this out, Matt," he said firmly, his voice filled with conviction. "Y/N's home is here with us."

Matthew nodded gratefully, drawing strength from the unwavering support of his brothers. They had been through so much together, and he knew they would stand by him in protecting Y/N's best interests.

As Y/N toddled into the kitchen, her bright eyes filled with innocent curiosity, Matthew scooped her up into his arms. He held her close, pressing a kiss to her forehead, determined to shield her from any uncertainty or upheaval that might lie ahead.
