The forest seemed to close in around Sytric as he navigated through the thick, tangled underbrush towards the last known location of the Phoenix fortress. The air was heavy with the scent of earth and decay, a stark reminder of the recent chaos. As he neared the site, the remnants of what once was a makeshift fortress now lay in shambles.

The silence of the destroyed area was unnerving, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or distant calls of forest creatures. As Sytric scanned the debris-strewn ground, his concern deepened. Amidst the wreckage, he spotted the unconscious forms of Summer and Darian, but there was no sign of Celeste. Each moment of silence weighed heavily on him as he processed the scene, the uncertainty of Celeste's whereabouts adding to the tension.
Just as he was about to call out, a faint, indistinct noise caught his attention. It was difficult to pinpoint its origin, sounding almost like a muffled voice or a stifled groan. "Celeste, is that you?" Sytric called out tentatively, his voice cutting through the oppressive silence.

Straining to listen, he heard a weak response from beneath the debris. "In here," came a strained voice, barely audible, "under the destroyed fortress." It was Celeste, using her remaining strength to call for help.

Relief and urgency surged through Sytric as he quickly identified the general area of the voice. He approached cautiously, mindful of causing further instability in the wreckage that might endanger Celeste further. "Hold on, I'm coming to get you out," he shouted back, his voice now firm with resolve.

As Sytric began to carefully move pieces of broken wood and scattered stones, he formulated a plan to safely extricate Celeste from her precarious situation. Every action was measured to avoid any additional collapse that might trap them both under the weight of the destroyed fortress.

The task was arduous, with the risk of shifting debris presenting a constant threat. However, Sytric's determination did not wane; he knew that every second counted, and his teammate's life might very well depend on his swift actions and clear judgment during this critical rescue effort.

After carefully removing enough debris to navigate the area, Sytric was shocked to find Celeste and unconscious Georgina on the other side of a hole created by the collapsed structure. He quickly assessed the situation, realizing the gravity of the confrontation that must have occurred.

As he helped Celesteu, he urgently asked, "What happened to her?" gesturing toward Georgina, who still lay motionless.

Regaining some of her strength, Celeste responded with a grim tone, "Eliminating our enemies." Her words hinted at a fierce battle that had transpired, one that had clearly taken a toll on both sides.

"You should go, Sytric," Celeste insisted once they were clear of the immediate danger. "I can make it back alone from here. You need to follow them—Phoenix team is proving more cunning than we anticipated."

Sytric nodded, understanding the urgency. "It's the best thing to do. We need to be more proactive." Agreeing with Celeste's assessment, he prepared to track the Phoenix team, relying on his training and instincts.

Moving quickly away from the site, Sytric soon found clear signs of passage—broken branches and disturbed leaves that created a trail. It was evident that this path could lead him to the Phoenix team's new location. Following these signs diligently, he moved with caution, aware that every step could lead into another trap.

The trail led him to what appeared to be the new fortress of the Phoenix team. As he approached, he encountered Brandon on watch. The encounter escalated quickly into a confrontation. Brandon, known for his formidable combat skills, proved a challenging opponent. The skirmish was intense, with both men trading blows. Despite his best efforts, Sytric found himself overmatched. Brandon's defensive maneuvers and strategic attacks left Sytric significantly wounded and struggling.

After a fierce exchange, Sytric managed to land a decisive blow that incapacitated Brandon, but not without sustaining serious injuries himself. Brandon slumped to the ground, unconscious, allowing Sytric to enter the fortress.

However, as he stealthily moved through the setup, Sytric soon realized that the fortress was just a decoy—a well-crafted setup meant to mislead and delay. There were no significant resources or personnel to be found. Realizing he had been lured away under false pretenses and now wounded, he felt a surge of frustration mixed with admiration for the Phoenix team's strategic depth.

With no further leads to pursue and recognizing the potential for additional traps, a battered Sytric decided it was time to retreat. He made his way back to his own team's fortress, his movements pained and laborious. His return was cautious, his mind busy analyzing the day's events and contemplating the cleverness of the Phoenix team.

Meanwhile, Simon, another team member of Argus, ventured deep into the forest with the mission to covertly observe Ealdred's team. Focused on gathering as much information as possible, Simon moved carefully, using the dense foliage to mask his presence. Little did he know, he was not alone in his reconnaissance.

Randall, from Sophie's team, was also on a similar mission. As a realm crosser with the instincts of a wolf, Randall possessed an innate predatory sense that made him exceptionally skilled at tracking and stealth operations. He had detected Simon's movements early on, recognizing the subtle disturbances in the natural environment that betrayed Simon's path.

Using his wolf-like instincts to his advantage, Randall shadowed Simon through the underbrush, maintaining a safe distance to avoid detection. As Simon paused near a clearing to observe Ealdred's camp, Randall recognized the perfect opportunity to strike.

With the stealth and precision of a natural predator, Randall closed the gap between them silently. Before Simon could sense the danger, Randall executed a swift, decisive maneuver, leveraging his superior position behind Simon to take him down quickly and quietly.

Caught off guard and overwhelmed by Randall's sudden and effective assault, Simon struggled briefly but found himself completely outmatched. Randall's realm crosser abilities ensured that Simon was subdued without causing a major disturbance, effectively neutralizing the threat he posed to Sophie's strategic plans. With Simon incapacitated, Randall quickly secured him, ensuring that he could not continue his spying activities or escape to report back to his own team.

This encounter highlighted the intense cat-and-mouse games played within the larger trial, with each team's spies and scouts playing pivotal roles in the shifting dynamics of power and strategy in the forest.
