Where are the Knights?

by: unknown

Knights are useless? Thieves recently attacked the Dandeilionville last night. Three houses are burned and all of the members got safe. Villagers said that during that night, the knights are nowhere to be found. Rumors are spreading that the knights are not capable of maintaining the peace in the land of Aerthys. People of Aerthys is demanding a public word from the grandmaster of the Knights.......

Aella shoved the gossip print at her messenger bag. She fixed her uniform and saved it from being crumpled. Another attacked the thieves. The knights have become so busy investigating and protecting every village from their nation. The attacks have become worse and it made the knights so furious and the new newsprint added some fuel to the fire. She massaged her temple. She is one of those Knights they call useless.

It's been months since the first attacked and up until now they don't have the clues and evidence, they need to capture those thieves.

The thieves always make sure to burn every house they robbed to erase every evidence that they might left. That's their tactics. The knights are working nonstop just to catch at least one of the thieves, but luck wasn't on their side.

Aella is now distributing papers in every house. These documents provide information that will help individuals identify potential thieves and where to go to get the Knights' assistance. The Grandmaster of the Knights scattered them at different places to protect and respond in case the thieves attacked again. She is sure that the grandmaster is furious. This case will surely reach the others nation and they will be the laughing stock.

"Those thieves are such a menace." Theo said. They're both walking to reach the next house. The last house of the village and it took them a lot of minutes to reach.

Aella tsked. "They're assholes. Robbing houses instead of working. Lazy asses." She said and face the door of the house.

"Those assholes will cause us more sleepless nights." He said as they both face the door.

"More sleepless nights for you if keep on complaining." Aella said and knocked trice on the door.

The door opened and a shirtless man welcome them. She raised her left eyebrow when she saw him.

"Good day! What can I help you?" The man greeted them with his perfect smile. He is in the same age as them and she is sure of that.

Chiseled physique, deep blue eyes, strong jawline, and dark brown hair and His lips are full and inviting, curled into a perpetual smile that hints at a quick wit and a playful sense of humor. As he moves, his broad shoulders flex with ease, and his long, lean limbs ripple with muscles that seem to have been sculpted by the gods.

Aella didn't know that there is a gorgeous man living in this village. She laughed silently. I praised him and called him gorgeous. She cleared her throat to cleared her mind. She saw plenty of shirtless men with great bodies, and she should not be affected by him.

"We are Knights and we are here to give you this paper with information that can help you from the thieves." She informed him and Theo gave the papers to the man.

He smiled again and read the papers before looking at them---to her. "Thank you for these." Those smiles. She thinks something is different from those smiles. They're wicked, playful and teasing.

"We hope we are not interrupting your day. We will now say our goodbyes." Theo tried to lighten the mood. They turned back at him and leave.

She is glad that Theo didn't notice something and didn't ask something. She prefers a peaceful walk that to a chaotic one.

The day time passed. The war begins at the time the sunsets. They've increased their guards up and readied their coffee to stay awake during the whole night. She is tasked to roam around and see if everything is still looking fine.

The sound of crickets is so loud and the wind breeze is cold. Lights are only from the street lights. No other people can be seen outside since they're ordered to keep people from leaving their house.

Those sounds are the only sounds she wants to hear. But she heard a loud scream coming from the north. She instantly turned and ran towards that way.

She ran and bumped into another figure.

They both collapsed at the ground. It's a man. He is covered in black clothes and wearing a mask and then their eyes met. She saw a familiar eyes. Those blue eyes! Her eyes widened in disbelief.

Those eyes!

"You! Bastard!" She immediately stood up and grabbed him by his shirt and pushed him on the wall. She grabbed her dagger and pressed it on his neck.

"The lady knight." He greeted her and chuckled. "It's nice to see you again. You're more lovely during at night. Also, hot." He whispered the two last words. It made her blood boil.

"All those months of hunting. You made our head mad." She angrily said to him. Still her dagger is on his neck but all he did is to smile at her and laughed. Like she's just joking.

"You also make my head mad...." His blue eyes are teasing her again, "the head down there." With those flirty words, she snapped and gave him a punched on his stomach. She knows what those words mean.

"Oww." He groaned and smiled again.

"Enough. I'm not joking." Aella said.

"Pretty knight, I'm not making fun of you. You really made my head down there mad and angry with your sexiness."

She rolled her eyes and looked at him with anger. "You're not just a bastard, you're also a pervert thief."

"What? I'm just describing you."

Before she can response Theo and the other knights came. They saw her.

"Aella!" Theo shouted that lose her concentration and before she could response, the thief switched their positioned and she dropped her dagger to the floor.

His dagger is now pressed on her neck. The tables have turned. She is now the hostage. He's behind her with his arms wrapped around her making her not able to move.

"One wrong move and I'll ripped her neck." He threatened them. Theo's group didn't know what to do. They're just standing there and contemplating on how to save her.

"Release her and face us." Theo tried to make a bargain. "No one will be hurt."

The bastard thief laughed. "Hurt me? You should worry about yourself." He shows them his Vision. It's Pyro. He is the one who's burning the houses of the victims.

If she's going to use her anemo vision, her safety is not guaranteed. Theo's vision is also no match with the pyro vision. He will melt his ice.

But she can make him release her. She glanced at Theo. Using her other hand, she summoned her dagger from the floor and use it to release a ball of wind. The dagger from his hand was release and flew away and cause him some distraction. She tried to use that to ran away from him but he is so fast to grabbed her waist and his one arm hold her neck.

She gasped when he releases a fire and formed a big wall of fire that prevents Theo's group from come closer to us.

"Let me go." She said while trying to loosen his grip. "You're a monster."

He dragged her towards the end of the village until to the dark forest.

He released her. "See you again next time. Pretty knight." He said it as goodbye and suddenly he vanished for just a second.

She will make sure that they will see each other again. To capture that thief is her purpose.
