DETERMINATION

Monster Evolves

It has been years since two Todoroki children had perished. Toya Todoroki had died tragically, and a young, quirkless boy, Y/N Todoroki, ran away and was presumed dead after killing two police officers who came to question him. His father, Endeavor, had been greatly shamed by his son's actions, a lot of his ratings dropped drastically after his son's disappearance, with people blaming him for letting a murderer run away, child or not.

However... the story of Y/N hasn't finished yet. He was far from dead. Under All for One's tutelage, he has grown powerful. His quirk reached heights previously inconceivable to anyone, even Y/N himself. Through sheer willpower and DETERMINATION, Y/N had gained the ability to cheat death itself. He has gained the ability to save a point in time and then reset the very universe itself to that point through sheer power of will. An added bonus, people do not seem to remember anything that happens after the reset. His LV, or LOVE, had also increased drastically, going from a fairly measly 5 to 15. Y/N was a true monster now, having little issue with slaughtering innocents just for being in his way. But it wouldn't be fair to say that this new ruthlessness was all Y/N's doing, All for One had plenty of blame for himself. All for One has dedicated a lot of his time to making sure that Y/N becomes a ruthless, merciless killing machine with no desire other than to destroy.

Y/N would often find himself literally craving to hurt others, having manic episodes whenever he goes without violence for too long. He becomes easily irritable, almost rabid. But, when his bloodlust is sated, Y/N rarely shows any emotion at all, even rarely speaking, his face remaining neutral at all times. All for One, worried about the boy's manic episodes, had decided to do something about it. After all, the boy would soon surpass even him if he continued down this path of rapid progress. So, All for One took a blood sample from Y/N, and through his experimentation with Y/N's DETERMINATION, has created a new being. A being created to keep Y/N company at all times, and keep him in check. A being with DETERMINATION of its own. A talking flower named Flowey.

Flowey had soon developed a personality of it's own, it was just as ruthless and merciless as Y/N himself, but it kept it's composure a lot better than Y/N did, which allowed it to keep Y/N in check whenever he goes without violence for too long. Y/N and Flowey very quickly became friends, even having something of a brotherly bond between each other. Y/N never goes anywhere without Flowey, and Flowey is more than glad to accompany Y/N wherever he goes at all times. After all, he was created for that. He was created to basically be Y/N's chaperone.

All for One never intended for the boy to become this destructive. It made him difficult to control. But, it also gave All for One a very valuable soldier. One who would kill anyone he asked without question. Of course, that level of destructiveness had plenty of disadvantages to it. For one, it was difficult to keep Y/N in check whenever he went out, as he was declared dead, he had to remain hidden, lest people find out that he was alive after all. Second, it was difficult to keep him from destroying more than necessary. As much as All for One enjoyed the boy's ruthlessness, sometimes restraint is preferred. And restraint is something Y/N very much lacked.

Y/N POV

I let out a sigh as I laid down on my bed, tossing my knife into the air before catching it. I was bored. Extremely bored. "UUUUUUGH... it's so god damn boring!" I said to myself, catching the knife one more time before throwing it into the wall, the blade stabbing itself deep into the wall, all the way to the hilt. A high-pitched voice chuckled, and I looked to my side, seeing Flowey in his pot, looking at me. "Something funny, brother?" I asked, crossing my arms as I sat up on the bed.

"Oh, nothing, nothing at all, brother! But... if you're bored, why don't we head out? Get some EXP, have some fun!" Flowey suggested and I scoffed "You know damn well that father forbade us from going outside today, Endeavor is on patrol today in our nearby area. If he sees us, he will recognize me." I said simply, standing up and pulling my knife out of the wall, wiping it off on my shirt. The 'Father' I was referring to was obviously All for One.
