As you were pushed into the void you felt yourself return to reality and soon, you were right where you were before you died. You were running straight towards Mettaton in the orange light.

This time, however, you remained calm. You didn't allow your anger and frustration take over.

You noticed as the orange light started to flicker and stopped moving just as it turned blue, your eyes narrowing in focus at Mettaton.

"Wonderful, darling! Good to see you won't be boring for my audience! Smile for the camera, darling. Who knows how many people will see you?" Mettaton taunted as he posed for the camera.

It was clear to you that his strategy is to goad you into making a mistake. To make you so angry that you get yourself killed. Well, good for him, it worked once. It won't work again.

"You seem angry, darling. Don't tell me my showmanship is getting to you so early? We're only getting started!" Mettaton said, and just as he did, the blue light began to flicker again, indicating that it would turn orange soon.

And just as it did, you took off, running at top speeds towards Mettaton, you intended to reach him before the light can turn blue again, but the moment you got too close, the light started to flicker again.

Your eyes narrowed further, you were so close, you can't risk losing this opportunity.

You slashed just as the light turned blue.

Mettaton's eyes widened and he leaned back just in time, your knife just barely grazing his armor, leaving a very noticeable scratch.

So, he DID get weaker in exchange for more speed and agility. Good. That means that he's no longer invulnerable.

Now that you were stuck in place, Mettaton once again took the chance to get some distance in between you two.

"Masterfully done, darling! And just as promised, since you didn't give us the courtesy of dying, you get to keep fighting!" Mettaton said, confetti dropping from the ceiling as he clapped.

The disco ball proceeded to ascend back into the ceiling, the blue light disappearing, being replaced by the lab's usual white lighting.

You turned back to face Mettaton's new position. So, his plan was probably to keep taunting you and to run away every time you tried to get close. A cowardly strategy, but not a bad one.

Unfortunately for him, unlike Alphys, he doesn't seem to know that you can return from death.

Alphys must not have told him if he's so desperate to keep trying to kill you. You imagined that anyone who knew about your power wouldn't even bother killing you, since you can just come back.

"But you dying wouldn't change much anyway, would it?" Mettaton asked.

Oh. Guess he did know.

"Yes, darling. I know of your power. Of your DETERMINATION. And now that I'm about to say it, everyone watching this broadcast will know as well." Mettaton said.

Your eyes widened, you can't let him blabber about your powers to the whole world. If that happens, your whole plan will go to hell. If people know that no matter what they do, you can come back, they'll all go into hiding. There will be no one else for you to kill. Heroes won't even bother trying to fight you.
