You began to wander the dark, empty halls of the lab once more. The place was starting to unnerve you. You felt as if you would strike at anything that startled you.

Maybe watching those tapes wasn't such a good idea.

Eventually, you managed to find the next key slot. And there... you found another tape. You picked the tape up and put it into your pocket, you'll watch it later.

You inserted the key into this slot and the room started to rumble.

A giant, white mass entered through the door, hulking around the room before setting its many eyes towards you.

It let out a pained groan before it started moving towards you. It was slow, but huge. You were certain that a single hit from this thing could easily knock you out.

You can't even begin to imagine just how many people were fused into this thing. By the looks of it, at least 4. And that's on the low end.

It swung its giant fist towards you and you jumped back to avoid it.

As the amalgamation readied another strike, you leaped forward, sending a barrage of slashes towards it, cutting it into dozens of tiny pieces.

You hate this place

You hate this place.

You decided to return to the room with the TV to check what this tape can show you.

You inserted the tape.

At first, it was static.

Then... darkness. Darkness and shallow, ragged breathing in the background.

Then, a strange machine, resembling an animal skull, was shown.

"I... have called it... the DETERMINATION Extractor..."

The same person that was having difficulty breathing earlier spoke, his voice was pained. He was clearly having trouble with the simplest tasks like breathing and talking. It was easy to assume that this was Gaster after injecting DETERMINATION into himself.

Your assumption would be proven correct, as Gaster would show himself to the camera. A great, black, hulking mass with a deformed skull at the top. He could barely stand.

"My... experiments... are a failure..."

He said before going into a coughing fit, black liquid leaking from the spaces between his teeth and falling to the floor.

"Injecting DETERMINATION... into myself... was a mistake... a decision made out of... frustration and... desperation..."

He said, walking over to a switch on the wall, next to the skull-like machine.

"An... excess... of DETERMINATION... has caused my body... to continuously destroy and reform itself... over... and over..."

He explained, flipping the switch, causing the machine to turn on.

He walked in front of the machine.

"Extracting... the excess... should allow my body... to stick to a more... permanent appearance..."

He said before the machine shot out a laser towards him, directly in the chest.

He let out a scream as the recording went white, clearly, the room was so bright that it couldn't be recorded.

The tape ends there.

You assumed that the DETERMINATION Extractor must have worked, seeing as you saw Gaster in person.

He survived injecting himself with DETERMINATION and managed to get rid of the excess of it.

You decided to look for the next key slot.

It didn't take long to find the next one, you've been in most rooms by now. And, conveniently, you found another tape.

You figured there'd be no harm in watching it. It's not like Alphys has anywhere to run while you do that.

You return to the TV room and put the tape in. But, to your surprise, instead of Gaster, Alphys was on the screen.

"My mentor, Dr. W. D. Gaster, has disappeared."

She said, causing your eyes to widen a little bit. What did she mean he disappeared?

"He spoke a little bit about his experiments, but... I found none of his test subjects in the lab. It seems I will have to start from scratch. His employer has offered me the same deal that he had with Gaster. I accepted."

Alphys looked to the side before facing the camera again.

"Sick people, people who are dying, they will arrive soon to become my test subjects. My goal is to find a way to cure them of their sickness using the substance Gaster called "DETERMINATION". I do not know what experiments he did, he told me he recorded them, but I couldn't find the tapes. I don't think I want to see them, anyway. I will just have to experiment on my own and hope for the best. If I find the tapes, I don't think I'll watch them."

So, that explains why she repeated all of Gaster's mistakes and made more amalgamations. But... where did Gaster and all of HIS amalgamations go after the previous tape? Just what did the DETERMINATION Extractor do to him?

The tape ended there.

You decided to stop wasting any more time and look for the last key slot.

Thankfully, with most of the lab explored, you managed to find the last slot fairly easily. And there didn't seem to be any tapes after the one with Alphys. It seems that Alphys preferred recording her thoughts on the panels, rather than on tapes.

But now, with all of the keys in place, the door to the Power Room should be unlocked. That means that your time in this lab is almost over. All that remains, is to turn the power back on and find Alphys.

Though, you couldn't help but wonder, why didn't you see the DETERMINATION Extractor yet? You've been to pretty much every unlocked room in this lab and found no sign of the machine.

No matter. Your priority is killing Alphys. Not to play detective.

You went back to the start of the lab, where the door to the Power Room was.

All the lights on the door were glowing. Red. Blue. Green. Yellow.

You walked up to the door and it opened on its own.

You walked in and glanced around the room, it was dark and dusty, filled with all sorts of electrical equipment.

You walked up to the generator and pressed the button.
