In a world of Heroes and Villains, what will happen when someone with power beyond both of them, with less than benevolent goals, appears? What will happen when the Heroes find a threat that none of them can stop? A threat so great, even the most vi...
Something was wrong. You felt weird. What the hell happened? Did... did your LOVE just DECREASE? Was that even possible? What did this skeleton do to you?
"ARE YOU ALRIGHT, NEW FRIEND? YOU WENT SILENT ALL OF A SUDDEN!" Papyrus asked, seemingly completely oblivious to the fact that he just did something that should be impossible.
You felt your anger rising up. You worked hard for that EXP. And then this naive idiot comes along and somehow takes it all away! Oh, you won't stand for this.
"What did you do?" You asked, your rage clear in your voice, despite your seemingly calm tone.
Papyrus seemed confused. "WHAT DID I DO? I'M NOT SURE I UNDERSTAND." Papyrus said, just cementing the fact that he didn't understand either.
You stopped for a moment to consider the possible options. LOVE is gained not just from killing but from one's general capacity to hurt, too. By telling you to apologize, to regret your actions, Papyrus may have accidentally made you a bit softer. Not much, just one LOVE lower, but still.
You need to rectify this. You need to gain that LOVE back. You stood up from the ground, chuckling to yourself. "You said Undyne was training you, right?" You asked, a sinister grin appearing on your face.
Papyrus enthusiastically nodded and stood up as well. "INDEED! UNDYNE HAS BEEN AN EXCELLENT TEACHER!" He said, happiness very clear in his voice just at the mention of Undyne.
Your grin widened. You could barely contain your giddiness at the situation. "She's not on vacation, 'friend'." You said simply
Papyrus looked even more confused now. "NOT ON VACATION? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? DO YOU KNOW HER?" Papyrus asked, somehow keeping up that smile on his face.
"Oh, I knew her, alright. I knew her very... intimately." You said, a psychotic and sadistic excitement in your voice as you spoke. "I killed her. Sliced her apart like sushi." You said.
Papyrus' smile faltered for a moment, taking a step back from you. "YOU... YOU DID?" Papyrus asked. You could hear the sadness and that delicious fear in his voice. "I... I SEE..." PAPYRUS SAID, BARELY MANAGING TO KEEP THAT SMILE ON HIS FACE. "I.. I STILL THINK YOU CAN GET BETTER. THERE'S GOOD IN YOU, I CAN TELL." Papyrus said, though, you weren't sure if he was reassuring you or himself.
"I'M SURE YOUR LIFE WAS DIFFICULT. YOU JUST NEED A FRIEND TO SHOW YOU A DIFFERENT PATH. SOMEONE THAT CAN SHOW YOU KINDNESS." Papyrus said, no longer stepping back from you. Instead, he stood his ground.
You scowled, feeling further irritated by his continuous optimism. You took a step forward.
"YOU CAN BE GOOD! I KNOW YOU CAN! EVERYONE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CHANGE. THEY JUST NEED A CHANCE. I KNOW YOU CAN BE BETTER, EVEN IF YOU DON'T THINK SO!" Papyrus said, continuing this nonsense.
You took another step forward.
"I FORGIVE YOU." PAPYRUS SAID. "UNDYNE WAS A FRIEND. I WILL MISS HER. BUT... YOU NEED A FRIEND MORE THAN SHE DOES. WE DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT. WE CAN JUST SIT BACK DOWN AND KEEP TALKING." Papyrus said, oblivious to your very clear intentions.
You took another step forward.
"DO I TAKE YOUR SILENCE AS A 'YES'?" Papyrus asked, his smile returning to his face. "I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, OPEN UP MY ARMS FOR A HUG OF FRIENDSHIP!" Papyrus said... only for a knife to suddenly materialize in your hand. His eyes widened, and just as you slashed at him, he suddenly moved out of the way, dodging your attack.
Papyrus' smile turned into a frown. "I... I SEE. IT SEEMS YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF ACCEPTING MY HELP. THEN, I HAVE TO DO MY DUTY AS A HERO. I'M SORRY. BUT I HAVE TO DO THIS." Papyrus said, bones materializing behind him, which he shot towards you.
Your eyes widened. You didn't expect the naive fool to actually try fighting back. You managed to dodge just in time before the bones could impale you. However, it didn't take long for more bones to come your way. Some of them were coming at you from the air, while the others would burst out of the ground under your feet.
You barely managed to dodge all of them. It seems that Papyrus didn't have any intentions of letting you get close again. That's going to be a problem. You thought he was going to be easy pickings, but it seems that he's tougher than you anticipated.
Papyrus, however, still didn't seem like he wanted to do this. He didn't want to fight you. Despite everything, he still wanted to give you a chance.
"PLEASE. PUT THE KNIFE DOWN. I CAN TAKE YOU TO THE POLICE. JUST SURRENDER AND WE CAN STILL TALK THIS OUT." Papyrus offered but got nothing in response. He frowned at your silence. It was clear that you weren't going to back down.
You slashed at the air, sending red slashes towards him, which he managed to narrowly dodge. It seems that moving while fighting isn't his strong suit. So, he's a ranged fighter who probably doesn't know how to dodge properly. He's not used to attacks getting anywhere close to reaching him. Inconvenient for him that he's facing someone who can use both ranged and close-quarter attacks.
While dodging his bone attacks, you continue trying to get him with your ranged attacks, he still somehow manages to dodge, despite his inexperience.
"WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS! IF YOU'RE SCARED OF WHAT THE POLICE MIGHT DO TO YOU, THEN WE DON'T HAVE TO GO FOR THEM. MY BROTHER AND I CAN KEEP YOU HIDDEN! WE CAN HELP YOU CHANGE!" Papyrus offered once more, only to be met with no response.
"I SEE... TOO BAD. I HOPED I WOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THIS, BUT LET'S SEE HOW WELL YOU DO AGAINST MY FABLED 'BLUE ATTACK'!" Papyrus said, when suddenly, blue bones shot out from behind him. When you tried to dodge them, they suddenly embedded themselves in your chest. You spat out blood, your eyes wide, when your SOUL suddenly popped out of your chest. Your SOUL suddenly cracked before bursting into pieces.
Dark. All around you was an empty, dark void.
The only thing visible was a small, glowing star in front of you, with floating text above it.

You moved to touch the 'Continue' part, to reload the very universe to a previous SAVE point, to try to kill Papyrus again. But you were interrupted by a voice. It sounded similar to yours, but was somehow different. You couldn't quite describe it.
