Leopold watched as the beings from the underworld attacked the city, horror on his face. What exactly was going on here? Just why were these beings on the surface of Vera anyway?! Guards should have been posted outside the "Gates to Hell" so that they didn't escape the burning hellfire below!

Let's take a moment to explain all of this for a moment...

To start, let's explain the races and how they work. There are a total of seven races that live and breathe on the planet of Vera. The angels, spirits, beastmen, and surface humans live are located on the surface of Vera and communicate ONLY with these certain other races. Thousands of years ago, they followed God in a war against the rebelling "First King of Chaos" and when they won were rewarded with the ability to live on the surface of their planet.

The first race, the angels, are described as beings of light and are said to have direct contact with God as they act as his "messengers" at all times. Leopold's friend, Zion, is a half angel and the son of the angel's leader. These beings are also said to be very mysterious and very rarely show themselves to others.

The second races, the spirits, are renowned for the fact that unlike the other races they don't use any form of magic. Instead, their powers are known as "Spirit Arts" and are how they protect themselves from harm. This is the reason why when Leopold's stats were being examined at his school he was said to have zero magical power.

The third of the races that were blessed by God was the Beastmen. There are many variations of Beastmen which include merpeople, harpies, and many others. They have enhanced strength and different special abilities depending on the variation they hail from. Now while they are powerful, they do have a problem with being confused for the Monsters that live in the Underworld due to their similar nature of human-beast hybrid looks.

Then there were the "surface humans" to end the blessed beings. During the formerly mentioned war, the humans were spilt between those who followed God and those who did not. The surface humans were those who followed God and as such were blessed with magic as well. There are currently nine human nations which include the following: Kushida, Stashin, Vemburough, Bowlshen, Reinheart, Yoya, Wramid, Shimea, and Vinhold.

These races were followers of God in the war and when they won were blessed by him. They currently cover the surface of Vera with a population accounting up to 7.1 billion beings.

After these people were the races who did not follow God and lost the war against him... They followed a man by the name of Lucifer who was half angel and half demon. He had ideals that rivaled God's and decided to overthrow his foe to instate these ideals. He gathered the races of the Demons, Dragons, Monsters, and "Hell's Children" to try and win a war against God. However, after they lost they were cast into the Underworld, a place of fire and brimstone, as their punishment. A gate that led to this place of suffering was created by God so as to separate the surface from this hellish existence. However, some of the Underworld races have managed to break through this gate and to the surface to wreak havoc. This occurrence is what's known as a "Breakout".

The first group of people and the strongest of the four races, the Demons, are said to be wielders of a type of "dark magic" that rivals that of the "light magic" used by the surface dwellers. They enslave other races and live as the rulers of the Underworld.

The second of these races is the Dragons. They have the ability of magic as well as the power to transform to "True Dragons" or that of draconic-humanoid creatures. They are expert fighters with the spear and are renown for their leadership skills. In recent years, they have managed to break out onto the surface and form some alliances with the surface races in an attempt to heal the ancient wound between their respective races.

The third race to have been cast into the Underworld were the Monsters. As formerly mentioned, they hold a similar appearance to that of Beastmen and like them have variations of their citizens. Some Monsters are large, burly ogres while others are the nimble goblins. This race holds a sort of hierarchy in their civilization with your status being determined by which variation of the race you are. Monsters are known to be the most common of the four Underworld races to try and pull a "Breakout" onto the surface so as to escape the cruelty's of their former home. Something that is also interesting about them is that they are the only one of the four races to never have a "King of Chaos" come out of their lineage.

Finally, the last race sent to the Underworld was a group of beings known as "Hell's Children". They are the weakest of the four races and while given a different name are in reality just the humans who sided with the enemies of God. It has never been recorded of any one of these beings to escape onto the surface except for the five who were given the title of "King of Chaos" that came from their society. They use types of dark magic to defend themselves and according to information given from the Dragons they only live to be around fifty at the latest!

Leopold smiled. "Looks like I did remember something from all of those classes I had to sit through! Take that, Mr. Wakiza!"  He shook himself and looked back at the ensuing battle in front of him.

"We need to do something about this..." he breathed. The cloaked people from before had run off to fight the foes attacking them along with a Vinhold knight squad. Leopold wanted to help, but there were a lot of enemies for him to slay... And there was another thing.

"Why are the Dragons attacking us as well?!"  he asked himself. Dragons were now allies with the surface dwellers! Why was it they were siding with Demons and Monsters to attack us?! "There are way too many variables to account for..."

The boy looked over at Diablo who was with him. "Can you go and find Emerald as well as the others who were with her? I need to make sure that she is alright!"

Diablo nodded. "Of course. What will you do sir?"

Leopold took a short deep breath and then frowned. "I guess that I'll try to fight these bastards until you get back..." He looked at his size and frowned. Leopold had left his sword back at the village... And it wasn't as if he really knew how to use the sword that Diablo's power gifted him yet! "I need a sword..."

"I can get you a weapon, sir." Diablo assured. He dashed off in a quick second and then almost as fast as he had left he was back. Leopold's friend held a short sword in his hand. "Will this do, master?"

Leopold smiled. "That's fine." Then, without another moment of hesitation, the boy rushed off to fight. "Alright! Come get me, you bastards!"

"Alright! Come get me, you bastards!"
