Chapter 21: Old Past and New Future

Leopold, Emerald, and Leviathan were sitting in their room located inside of the Spirit Kingdom castle. Diablo was currently off attending to some errands that Leopold needed to have done, so it was just the three of them...

"So, you plan to be absent for the first few weeks of school then?" Leopold asked the two of them, sitting upon his bed.

Emerald looked at the floor and nodded. "My injuries have been healed for the most part, however... I don't think that I am in a state of being read to keep attending classes at this current time." She looked up at Leopold and smiled. "I should however be able to return soon enough, so do not worry!

The blond haired boy nodded. "I see... Would it also be accurate to assume that Leviathan will also be missing his school time alongside you?"

Leviathan nodded to the boy's question. "Indeed. I shall spend my every waking moment in service to her!"

"Aww! They really are so cute together!"  Leopold thought to himself.

"And what will you be doing, Sir Leopold?" Emerald then questioned.

"Hmm..." Leopold thought for a moment. There wasn't exactly an exact plan he had come up with yet. "I guess... I may head back to my family's house. I will most likely have Diablo work at the house for my father and I also need to pick up Mikayla so we can head back to school together. Then I will probably meet up with Ivory and Lucas somewhere before actually arriving at the campus."

"I see. Well I hope that your travels are safe." Emerald said to the boy, still grinning.

Leopold laughed at her comment. "I'll try my best."

"By the way, Leo..." Leviathan called to the boy from where he was sitting. "Do you know how Singe and the others are fairing these days? I haven't seen any of them since the end of the last battle..."

"Good question..." Leopold looked up at the ceiling and took a short deep breath. "Lemia said that they seem to be doing well enough, but I haven't actually seen it for myself. Still, it's not like it matters now anyway."

"This sure has been one hectic break..." Emerald said to the two boys.

Leviathan nodded. "Indeed it has... A good story that we can tell our future offspring."

Leopold snickered. "Already planning for your kids with Emerald, Levi? Such a bold move..."

"Shut it, you joking lunatic!"

Leopold grinned and then got up from his bed. "I think that I'm going to take a walk around the castle grounds for a little while. I should be back by nightfall."

"Kay. I think I'm going to get some shuteye..." Emerald said.

"Same here." her attendant agreed.

Both the two crashed out on their beds as Leopold left the room. He walked down the halls of the castle in thought as he treaded this way and that.

"I can't believe that the break is almost over..."  he thought in a sense of sorrow. "This sure has been one heck tick time! I wonder what's going to happen when I go back to school..."

"Which reminds me... I wonder just how I'm going to go about my life now that I know about my past wirh Emerald and the others." The boy pondered all that had transpired in the moment, thinking of what he would do. "Do I tell my other childhood friends? No... I can't when there's that mysterious imposter around them."

"I should probably think about investigating this guy... Leopold Kushida..."  his mind swirled.

There were so many questions pertaining to the mysterious person who seemed to be acting as Leopold while the actual person in question was under another identity. When had that happened? And why...
