After the death of the bandit's leader, the battle started to deescalate down further and further until its eventual end. The bandits, seeing their boss now just a lifeless corpse, surrendered to their foes very quickly. Even Singe who had been close to defeating Leviathan while still some distance from the village center had dropped his will to fight and quietly gone into custody.
Now, Singe was locked up inside one of the dungeon cells located within the castle of the Spirt Kingdom. He looked over at Lucy who was locked up in the cell with him, sleeping away.
The boy sighed. "I hadn't hoped she would have to get dragged into all of this mess... Maybe I'll be lucky and they'll spare her since she didn't have much of a part in the battle." He also thought that since she was supposed to be of Spirit descent that the kingdom would possibly take her in and raise her as one of their own. "It will be better if she can live a much more peaceful life..."
Singe looked back at the bars that held him in the cage. They were made of a special material, the same as the cage he was in, that was supposed to block all supernatural powers from being used.
"Although at this point I don't know that I really have the strength to escape even if I really wanted too..." he observed, laughing at his pathetic situation.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps caught Singe's ears. A couple of Spirt Kingdom knights were coming his way, the keys to the cell in one of the guard's hands.
"It's time for your trial." the lead knight said to Singe, unlocking his cell. He quickly took off the chains that bound Singe's arms and legs, replacing them with new chains not lodged into the wall, but would still repel his magical powers.
"Will she be coming as well?" Singe asked the guard, signaling to the sleeping Lucy.
The guard frowned. "That is not a question that I can answer. However, if all goes well for her, she won't be kept here long being as she is most likely to be deemed as "kidnapped" and forced against her will to fight by you scoundrel."
Singe sighed in relief. "That's good. It's unfortunate that I won't ever be able to see her again..." He looked one last time as the peaceful face of Lucy and smiled. "It was nice being your partner, Lucy..."
The guards then dragged Singe through the castle and toward where the trail was going to be held, the throne room where the king was waiting. Singe thought about what could possibly happen and where he would most likely end up after the trail was complete.
"Probably dead..." he muttered under his breath, quiet enough so that the soldiers who were escorting him wouldn't hear.
He sighed. "I guess this is really it. Time for me to brave this like a real man..."

Leopold felt as sweat dripped from his forehead... There was no way that this was really where he found himself, right? This was all just some sort of terrible dream... RIGHT?!
The boy felt as Lemia grabbed onto his arm, giggling at the scene. "Yay! I get to sit with you, darling! What a wondrous day!"
Eyes twitching at the scene he found himself trapped in, Leopold took a deep breath and looked at his engaged partner. "Lemia... would you be so kind as to remind me why your acting like a child now?!"
The girl giggled at his question. "You aren't ever around, Leo! Even if I am a princess, I am also your fiancée!"
"And what is your point exactly?"
"A girl wants to be spoiled by her lover you know..." Lemia explained to Leopold, frowning at her partner's lack of knowledge on the subject. "That means that until you leave... I get to be spolied by you indefinitely!"
